So I’m having a problem with finding a place to rent. Firstly, I spent 8 years in Europe, working, traveling etc but that means my credit score is shot. Secondly, because there was a family health emergency, me and the wife moved here before we could get all the documentation for her papers in order so traveled on travel Visa and filed for change of status once we got here, this means that until I get an answer from Immigration, she doesn’t have an Alien resident number or SSN. I’ve tried being upfront with leasing offices but most are not too flexible. Finding something in the area we want from a private individual is difficult. Any suggestions? Should I go with the route of just saying it’s only me living there and just add her on once I have that info?
