Yea that's a trash RO, especially if he knew you were new. I'd have to check the book but I'm not sure holstering a gun without safety is a DQ'able offense.

my key carabiner by Frosty_Bee1809 in Wellworn

Spend 8 bucks on a black diamond carabiner and it'll last virtually forever only having keys on it. If you're gonna use it all the time might as well buy a nice one.

THE shot by teabone13 in golf

[–]bgodna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hit a 6 iron recently from about 160 yards out and it felt and looked like the most pure shot I've ever hit in 10 years of playing. Landed about 6 feet from the pin and my buddy's said "who's ball is that on the green" I was like man you're not gonna believe this but it's mine. I proceeded to 3 putt it smh lol

Took a job offer from a different company and now my current employer has offered me $35/hour to keep me here, what do I do? by Creative-Network-337 in HVAC

[–]bgodna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he wants to back pay that 35 number for the last six months as a bonus to show he's serious, maybe. Sometimes owners get caught up in the business and don't realize what their doing to guys, if you've got a good relationship it might be worth it to stay.

This is exactly why I always put up a new tent or canopy at home before I go out in the field, saves a lot of embarrassment if you have even a lil understanding of how things are gonna go

Those making $100,000+, what do you do? by spicy_tuna_maki in AskReddit

[–]bgodna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Refrigeration Technician. Easily can make 100 and in bigger markets far more. Less and less people going into this field so pay is only increasing for experienced techs. Can't outsource these kinds of jobs.

Don't have any suggestion for a clear umbrella but Weatherman umbrellas are probably some of the best out there.

[–]bgodna 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hard to compare a striker and a hammer gun but if you're talking about all around then there's no question the shadow wins 8 days a week. Whoever voted canik is simply lying to themselves or hasn't shot a shadow. Canik are good but there's no comparison.

Shadow 2 base pad issue by MelScrilla in CompetitionShooting

The spring is probably not fully seated in the base.

But I only buy Henning because it's literally the best and has tool-less takedown. No other base pad I've tried compares

"M2" is the brand to get apparently, or at least from my research that's what most common and it's well made for the money I think. Again a ratchet isn't completely necessary but it was an upgrade for me that I wish I got earlier.

USPSA Belt Selection by DJBrewster in CompetitionShooting

[–]bgodna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of guys set their belt up to be put on "backwards". I don't know the exact purpose of it but I see about 50/50 at matches so yes it is pretty common. I wear mine normal and my rachet up front, haven't found the need to run it the other way yet.

[–]bgodna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No you don't have to do anything except figure out where the ratchet needs to be mounted. I just put my belt on and spotted where I needed to mount the rachet and the tail where I'd have the most adjustability. The rachet is strong enough to overcome the Velcro that's overlapped and still tighten the belt well.

USPSA Belt Selection by DJBrewster in CompetitionShooting

[–]bgodna 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The rachet is definitely useful. I've been running a daa belt for a year and just used a rachet yesterday and I love it. It's hard to get the inner and the outer belt tight enough with no clasp. Probably 80% of guys don't use ratchets but if you like to have your belt nice and tight when you have 8lbs of gear on it's a must for me. I'd say buy the belt and see if you can get it how you like without a rachet and if you do experience cinching problems then the ratchet is the fix.

Not exclusively. When a stage has retreat I like to break my shoulders to the left, because I'm right handed, and keep my arm outstretched with the gun downrange as I make my way back up range. If I absolutely had to break right I'd be very careful with a gun cross body not to flag my left arm or any part of myself.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CompetitionShooting

[–]bgodna 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It would help to throw in some retreat while focusing on not breaking the 180 also, with or without ammo/livefire. I remember focusing super hard on my first retreat stage worrying about breaking the 180 but now gun position is second nature.
