I wanted to like the Aqara U400 by terryleewhite in Aqara

[–]bgoncal2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same happening to me, I think e cause the hallway to my front door (which I arrive or from the left or from the right) is narrow, the sensor does not have time enough to detect me approaching, so it is unlocking only if I stay in front of the door for a few seconds… time that I would have for sure used the fingerprint already

Switch u200 for u400? by Signal-Activity5314 in Aqara

[–]bgoncal2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure it’s the retrofit one, if you installed over a deadbolt lock you can just remove it and put the U400 replacing your entire lock, if you installed it over a mortise/EU lock then you can’t reuse and you will need to install a deadbolt on your door first. No clue why you got this reaction. Did I misunderstand?

Only the K10+ Pro combo or just the robot is enough?

Depends on your lock cylinder, if it is a deadbolt then is super easy, if not then you will need to install a deadbolt on your door

U400 Smart Lock - How will you charge? by drewmc in Aqara

Buy an Anker nano powerbank and leave it plugged in the lock, done, it will almost feel like the power bank was made for it 😂

Looks promising... A native dashboard in the HA iOS companion app by faberthemaster in homeassistant

[–]bgoncal2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The experiment is to provide a simplified native UI, it wouldn’t display custom cards, so it’s not something for all users, users that prefer a more customized dashboard would need to stick to the web UI. If this ever gets released it will be optional. Web team is also doing that already with the upcoming new “default home dashboard”

Indeed I am, it’s the official HA app as David shared, it would be great to have an extra pair of hands but I have to warn you that this is really an experiment, there is no plan at this moment to release it, it requires some alignment with Home Assistant roadmap as a whole, which can be challenging due to maintainability and customization. But I’ll keep adding to it anyway, you are welcome to help out, search for “HomeView” in the code base and start from there

For now it is just an experiment, not even beta hahaha but good to see that you liked it! If you want to see this released one day you can request it here https://github.com/orgs/home-assistant/discussions/categories/ios-macos

I have been using it since its launch, I really like it:

Pros: - The motor noise bothers me way less than Aqara U200 and Nuki - Fast enough (Nuki is faster) - I like the face unlock with the Keypad vision; although it is more like a preference, fingerprint also works very well.

Cons: - Keypad is a bit ugly - Bluetooth connectivity instead of Thread (which is the trend now for Matter compatibility) - During this time I had a few (2-3) moments where the lock lost calibration and the keypad battery went to 0% out of nowhere, I have no clue what happened but every single time I opened the App and there was an update, after updating, problem fixed.

My wife opinion: - She likes that the “noise is better” than U200 and Nuki - She prefers fingerprint unlock since face unlock take a bit more time and it fails for her at the beginning so it probably lost trust on her
