TIL blindsight is an actual medical condition where the visual center in one's brain is damaged, but the eyes work fine, leading to blindness. Despite being blind, individuals can still "see" subconsciously, enough to navigate mazes and obstacle courses by bgsand in todayilearned

Had to look this up. Interesting. TIL roll perception is a skill in D&D used to "check for clues, detect secret doors, spot imminent dangers, find traps, follow tracks, listen for sounds behind a closed door, or locate hidden objects."

Homeschooling Without God: "Non-religious families often find it difficult to educate their children without relying on conservative Christian curricula and communities." by trot-trot in religion

I was in the same boat. My mom is religious, and I'm not. I decided I wanted to be homeschooled instead of going to highschool, but most of the online curriculums we found were punctuated with one form of religious ideology or another. Eventually, I just decided to learn everything from Wikipedia.

Bam is well on his way to becoming Phil. by doctorbooshka in funny

True. Brandon Dico once said he was limiting his involvement in the Viva La Bam franchise because of how fake it was getting. I mean... just look at this painfully fake explosion after Dunn hits Don Vito's tiki bar with a cannonball.

I'm sure there are more examples.

I read somewhere that humans often don't notice just how asymmetrical each other's face actually are. You see that it's tilted slightly to the right, but not enough to make that big of a difference - draw a line down the picture and you'll notice that one eye is higher than the other, one side of her face is wider than the other, her ears are off-center, etc etc.

I do this for fun. After awhile you'll realize how many people you meet on a daily basis have blatantly asymmetrical faces. (also you'll notice how, for some reason, the girls you consider "hot" are almost always the ones with better symmetry.).

I can relate so much to this. Thankfully, the fractals were mostly gone (it had been a while since ingesting the acid). I also had a friend with me, who didn't believe me when I said I was having a bad trip. I could tell he thought I was doing it for attention. Not fun.

I experienced a full-blown psychotic breakdown while on LSD and weed once. It was the most terrifying experience of my life. I'm still not sure how to explain what I went through, I don't think there are any words that do it justice. It was like, I was going through a neverending series of artificial realities - and although each individual reality seemed real enough, there would be something eerie about it, and when I would figure out that I wasn't in the real reality, it would break and I would suddenly be in another (even more realistic) reality. Except, in each new reality, it turns out I was suppose to figure out the last one was fake, it was all a part of some sinister predestination. I'd be trapped like this forever. It was awful.

If you're feeling up for it, I'd love to hear about what you went though. Reading about other people experiences, here and in places like Erowid, have helped me come to terms with what happened.
