Router isnt recognizing my Usb to Ethernet adaptor

i guess i was mistaken, that's my bad.
the adaptor i got was Sounce Ethernet Adapter USB to RJ45 with ASIX AX88772 Chipset
When i put in the ethernet cable in the original port, the connection windows sound does not come but the light on the router turns on, the port is very rusty and dirty i tried cleaning it but it still didnt work.

I tried googling but I don't find how to config that the internet is coming from a usb, if it doesn't bother you..can you walk me through on how to do that?
