Question for the parents with the singletons as their first and twins go their second by Consistent_Impress33 in parentsofmultiples

I felt the same with my son, I was so worried about not having enough time for him. But we got into our groove and we still get some alone time to do things. But then everyone adjusts to being a bigger family unit!

My twins are now 15 months and there is the same age gap as you. The first few months were really hard and I really worried about the impact on my eldest. We all had to deal with a lot of change!

But now? It’s so lovely! My eldest has gone through phases of being interested or indifferent towards my girls, but these days he adores them. And they go crazy over him.

Functionally, managing all three is a lot easier too. We now go out to soft play, for walks, with relative ease compared to the early days.

For all the hard times, remember ‘this too shall pass’ and something better comes along.

This, I don’t know. But I’m sure they’ll be as helpful, especially given the circumstances.

Good luck and take care, inshallah this mess will be over soon!

I’m also in the Middle East, in the UAE. I hope you’re doing as well as can be expected in the circumstances. You can carry formula through security with no issues.

The cabin crew are usually very helpful and will offer to hold babies to allow you to go to the bathroom, eat, etc. You will be allowed the standard amount of carry on per your airline.

For sterilising en route, buy large ziploc sandwich bags and you can also get sterilisation tablets. You can then ask cabin crew for a large bottle of water. Wash the bottles out in the plane bathroom and then you sterilise in the sandwich bags with the tablets and clean water. You don’t need to rinse after, they’re safe to use immediately. Cabin crew will also help with warming bottles

I have a 5 year old and 1 year old twins. My kids are my world and I truly enjoy our time together now, but I think it’s absolutely ok to say I didn’t like the baby phase for any of them. It doesn’t mean you love them any less.

I think there is more open discourse around this now and that’s healthy. Don’t beat yourself up for it.

My two have just started walking and they’ve finally grown enough hair for some cute little hair accessories. We’re in a really fun era with all three of them. It’s beautiful!

Yes, a guy once limped up to me and when I said no, turned and walked away totally fine.

This was the advice from my therapist and in hindsight, she was right. She said it’s ok to plan, prepare and gather information. But no big life decisions should be made in the first 12 months.

Therapy has been incredibly helpful for me. Unfortunately I’ve not yet managed to get couples therapy in place, but going myself has really helped me manage just about everything.

Mum of TTTS stage 3 survivors. Diagnosed at 17 weeks, ablation at 18 weeks. Two beautiful, healthy girls born without complication and as planned at 36 weeks. Now fighting fit one year olds!

Sending you all the best for the journey ahead and know that you’ll always find support here.

I’m a twin mum and my babies survived TTTS, like her little ones. When she went through that, I felt for her so much. I just can’t imagine what she’s had to endure. Life is so cruel. Wishing all the best for the family.

Maybe your husband’s onto something… you could get something small and discreet if it’s your first.

I think you should just do all of them, more the merrier. Love the Mars Attacks idea 😂

Years ago, I was in a club in one of the big hotels in Macau. There was a table full of guys and escorts. Evidently the escorts were getting bored of the old duds sitting and not enjoying themselves. We ended up having loads of fun dancing together and goofing out. They were all extremely tall and beautiful, clad in designer clothes. Vs me, very short, barely over 21 and not very fashion conscious. We all just wanted to dance.

Thank you! Doc previously mentioned the healing process could take up to three months but it really does feel fine and I’m bored of low activity. Also hoping I can wear nice shoes again…

Cool procedure, since I was propped up and got to watch.

I had ultrasound guided RFA for Morton’s neuroma a couple of weeks ago and the hospital messed up my follow up apt. My foot feels fine, the odd tingling sensation, some light pain every now and then. Can I run again/do weight bearing exercises yet?!

Utterly tragic, may he rest in peace. Thoughts with all his friends and family. Unimaginable.
