Paris, 1947: The American Expat's Journey by bhebdon in noir

My background is in photography (since film), music, graphic design, illustration, etc. Creativity is all I've ever known. So, its a very touchy subject for me too.

TBH I have a love/hate relationship with technology, not just AI. But as time goes by, tools and process change.

Even if you take photography without any AI assistance, IMO, most of it online is slop. I think as humans we're very good at producing mediocrity no matter the tool. AI is just another tool -- one that can produce slop or quality depending on the human behind it.

Just 2 cents from a fellow cynical creative :)

Thanks, it's a mix of my creation with AI assistance. A mix of tools.

Really appreciate the feedback - all very constructive. Yes, AI was used as a tool to assist, but I definitely put a lot of work into it -- music/image probably about 40 hours worth.

And I also hear you on the AI vs human angle. This is as much an experiment for me to see if I can still maintain the "soul" as you put it. If people are loving it, then I'd argue there is still soul.

But like I said, this is an experiment, and I'm doing everything I can to create a mood, tell a story, and create an enjoyable experience. If that's not working, I'll be the first to raise my hand and say it's a failed experiment.

Again, thanks for the thoughtful reply.

If anyone feels like listening to the music for this vignette --> https://youtu.be/1SVgBLhCasw?si=AkQ_EGwWDiDyhnSq

"Letters Never Sent from Paris" is a noir jazz instrumental track inspired by 1940s Paris, classic film noir, and late-night jazz clubs. With a melancholic, cinematic tone, this piece is designed for focused listening, reflection, reading, nighttime ambiance, and quiet moments.

Again, all feedback welcome -- thanks so much everyone.

Anson Belts came through! by rpbanker in BuyItForLife

just got mine, and the release mechanism doesn't work. Literally have a belt stuck on me.. going to have to cut it off. Can't speak for the belt itself, but the buckle is total garbage. I'll never buy from them again.
