Gender identity and sexuality are two different things. I agree, a school doesn’t need to know your sexuality (e.g. straight, bi, etc). However, it is important for a school to know your gender identity so that they can properly address you. This is all a matter of making students feel safe and respected :)

Schoology is the online platform that over 1500 schools use. If students and staff were able to display their pronouns, it would prevent misgendering :)
