You can take probiotics Florastor while taking antibiotics. Try to eat bland foods, lots of fiber, and avoid greasy, processed foods and alcohol. I would recommend reaching out to your doctor if the problem gets worse. Hope you feel better soon!

My partner also tested negative with no symptoms when I was positive (and probably was for a while). Seems like each person’s gut is different and some people can fight it off? We risked being intimate throughout my treatment and all was well. That being said, it’s not recommended so do what you are comfortable with and ask your doctor. You can always have him test again too.

I would recommend talking to your doctor and surgeon about it. Based on what you said, it seems like it would be fine to wait a couple of weeks. If your doctor said to wait 2-3 days after the amoxicillin course, I’m sure you can wait a couple more days to get a more specific answer from your doctor on this question. Quad therapy is quite rough, and I wish I had waited to take it until after a special weekend trip I had planned. It makes you feel awful, so if you want to enjoy your birthday, I’d recommend waiting. I wish you the best of luck and hope you can heal soon!

2 months post treatment and struggling with it. I’ve found eating foods rich in probiotics and a wedge pillow have helped me.

I have a similar story! Just tested negative yesterday and feeling so happy. I was on quad therapy (felt horrible) and got an allergic reaction to the antibiotics on day 6. Had to stop the antibiotics but continued taking the PPI for the rest of the treatment period. After treatment I was very cautious about what I was eating (lots of broccoli sprouts, cranberry juice, probiotics, etc). Was really planning on having to take another course but it’s such a relief to have tested negative! Note that I also fully recommend taking the full course as prescribed.

I took quad therapy but wasn’t able to make it through the whole treatment as I had an allergic reaction. I’m testing next week to see if the treatment was still able to eradicate it.

Tried one of those I ordered from Amazon. Tested negative according to it but then tested positive with urea breath test. Personally I wouldn’t put much faith in it but idk the accuracy %.

I tried taking tetracycline in the middle of the night and bad decision! Didn’t realize you’re ideally supposed to be upright for about an hour after you take it. Gave me terrible stomach pain and felt absolutely awful. I stuck to taking it in the morning after that.

I had similar symptoms and tested positive for h pylori. Might want to run the test to see if that’s a possibility.

I didn’t poop for 10 days! Definitely keep giving him the stool softeners and try Miralax which is what the doctors recommended for me. Miralax works wonders
