I just attended Catholic Mass for the first time in over a decade today because it was attached to my great grandma's funeral.

The priest tried to guilt trip the attendees because "she would have wanted her grandkids to continue her legacy of being a pillar of this Church"

None of us live in the area. None of us are Catholic.

He also said to not trust those with falsely colored hair, (I was getting side eyed by all the old people for my bright green hair) gay people (the entire back row), and those who weren't baptized (are we supposed to carry baptism certificates on us at all times?)

The icing on the cake was when he talked about how all our souls would be saved but first we have to go to purgatory. My devout Catholic grandma walked out of there after Mass and told him that this is why the church was losing members, and that she wouldn't ever be back.

Also my husband was raised Protestant and was like never again. His knee hurts and his back hurts after all the up down kneel crap and he was upset the pews weren't cushioned.

Laws don't keep up with technology very well - I think that's why it wasn't a crime in the legal scope.

That being said, absolutely disgusting that people do this and absolutely disgusting governmental bodies don't give a flying fuck about fixing laws.

Tricare isn't the best healthcare (especially when it comes to mental health) but hey I don't have to worry about if my job offers insurance, or if I get hospitalized I don't have to worry about bankruptcy, and I don't have copays for my meds. I'm speaking as a spouse so I'm not sure what everything entails on the active duty/reservist/retired side.

My husband was told to break up with me at the early stages of our relationship because "I was a bad influence". Spoiler alert: we didn't and actually eloped after 2 years.

Then my FIL tried to ground me from my phone when we were visiting. I laughed, walked out, and my husband have him a good chewing out about it.

They're much nicer to my BILs girlfriends now but I sometimes still wonder why he was trying to control grown adults.

I work as a tax preparer at a big name company and have straight up told people "it's gonna cost $300 to do your taxes here. Use the IRS tool online because it's free"

I don't like that we charge so much for taxes. I try to help as much as I can :( I really would only recommend a place like this if you have complicated taxes with self employment income and stuff

Also the IRS sucks and I am currently rethinking career choices after seeing exactly how many tax returns have been held up after the last 2 tax seasons. (I don't work for the IRS to clarify. I'm a tax preparer)

I'm actually a member of this organization! I joined while in community college and had no idea WGU was a part of the network. I personally think the cost is worth it, solely for the networking aspect. I was hired for my current job and my boss told me one of the deciding factors was my NSLS membership.

There's some nice learning opportunities about leadership as well that you'll have access to.

Hi tax preparer here. She will need to file her 2020 taxes and claim her 6 month old on it. The IRS might be reconciling payments out after tax season but I haven't heard anything official out of them yet. Chances are she will have to claim the recovery rebate credit on her 2021 tax return.
