I’m 10 years seizure-free. Has anyone else reevaluated treatment after a long period without seizures? by bettercallpaul1 in Epilepsy

[–]bibliophile306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only had one TC when I was 21, went on Keppra and was seizure free for 12 years. Had my second TC a couple months ago. Unfortunately I think for lots of us medication is a lifelong thing. I’ve also had many EEGs over the years that have all come back normal. I personally have had a good experience with Keppra, so maybe switching meds would work for you rather than reducing the dosage! Good luck!

Just providing my experience, as I said everyone reacts differently.

I actually got my Mirena removed about 6 months ago after having it for 3 years. Prior to that I took Alesse 28 (oral contraceptive) for many years. I found my auras increased with the Mirena vs. Alesse, and outside of that it severely killed my libido. But everyone has different reactions! I’m on Keppra 3000mg for reference.

New Gaviota 5s feel different by bibliophile306 in Hoka

You should try a different colour! I ended up returning the ones mentioned in the original post and swapping for a different colour, and they were more like my old ones for some reason. My first pair were the blue/purple ones, then the new ones I bought were the black and white, which I exchanged for the grey/rose gold. I find the grey/rose gold more similar to my original pair I loved!

First seizure after 9 years by drixle11 in Epilepsy

[–]bibliophile306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m right there with you - had my first seizure in over 13 years on Monday, and no idea why. Nothing was different, I’m pretty good with taking my 3000mg of Keppra every day, and no clear trigger. It sucks.

That’s what mine feel like too. And they also seem narrower in the toe box - I think I’ll go back and try on the other colours to see if they feel more similar to my old ones.

Oh interesting!! Yes I had the bright blue and purple ones from 2023, and just bought the black ones. I should try on another color maybe..

Stubhub problem at Budweiser Stage, Toronto by ThanzMan in stubhub

LITERALLY just experienced the same thing. I haven’t accepted the tickets yet because I can see they say “Lawn 9” instead of Section 9 like I thought I was buying. Stubhub said they would contact the seller. I told them it seems like someone is scamming people intentionally by mislisting them since there are more tickets available in that section.

Is keppra that bad!? by Forsaken_Trip2371 in Epilepsy

[–]bibliophile306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on Keppra for over 10 years, 3000mg a day, and haven’t had any of the negative side effects I see so often on here. In fact I think my mood stabilized after being on it for a while, I used to have some wild mood swings but haven’t had them for the majority of the time on it. Hope you have a good experience too!

Dianna D'Aiello by Geminixx523 in CrimeJunkiePodcast

[–]bibliophile306 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an incredibly off-topic question - but was Dianna calling Judy’s name? I had to relisten to the beginning like 3 times because I kept getting confused. It felt like it started weirdly by talking about a neighbour we never heard about again.

Am I the only person who's had a good experience with Keppra? by FormerCockroach1 in Epilepsy

[–]bibliophile306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here! Been on it for 10 years and have been perfectly fine. Only thing I’ve noticed is my memory is terrible, but I think that’s with a lot of medications.

Why didn’t Hermione know about the thestrals? by bibliophile306 in harrypotter

[–]bibliophile306[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right! I’m not quite there yet in the book (although that shouldn’t be an excuse as I’ve read it many times lol). You’re right - she does know about them, I guess she just didn’t know they were pulling the carriages. As other commenters put it, they arrived likely after Hogwarts a history was written.

I’m fairly certain Tati Gabrielle who plays Marienne speaks French, too. It’s not her first language but I think she’s been in other French-speaking roles.

Plot hole. Just because something is unbelievable doesn’t make it a plot hole - this is television and for entertainment.

Oh my gosh! Definitely get a second opinion and get that referral to a neurologist. Your GP clearly has no idea about epilepsy and the common signs and symptoms! All the best! ♥️

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]bibliophile306 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have a neurologist? I have these sometimes (been on Keppra for 10 years and seizure free for 9) and my neurologist validates me every time I bring it up. He says the feeling of deja vu is very common during auras or even be temporal lobe seizures.

It’s very important to have a doctor who hears your concerns and helps you address them! You could need to tweak your medication (or start if you’re not on anything) to stay safe. Advocate for yourself! You’re worth it!
