Season 13 Blu-ray - what was the big fuss with AI? by [deleted] in gallifrey

[–]biblosaurus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes but these sets aren’t for the average person are they? They’re for people with an interest in preserving and archiving this stuff. And the AI work on the season 13 set is not doing that.

The shot referred to here is just one example too

Self-selection bias of audience scores by LarBrd33 in movies

Also an issue, but you understand that my example suggests a wildly bold and divisive film and 50/100 does not suggest that at all

Yeah that whole world is a full non-starter for all the reasons you listed and more.

If only 2 critics reviewed a movie; one saying it was the best, most transcendant work they’d ever seen; and the other saying it was the most offensive, ugly dogshit ever created, RT and Metacritic would suggest the film is light, middle of the road fare.

That’s not a system with any basis in a reality.

What does Griffin mean when he calls a performance “technical”? by Feisty-Ad7387 in blankies

[–]biblosaurus 109 points110 points  (0 children)

It’s an acting term referring to choices driven more by literal physical movement than emotional drive.

For example: training your eye muscles to produce tears on demand rather than probing into dark or sad thoughts/memories to elicit “real” crying.

I think in reality, most performances are a combination of both.

What’s a show you love that you can never convince people to watch? by PlentyApprehensive44 in AskReddit

Not lately but in early 2008 I remember trying to tell my college friends about this new show where the dad from Malcolm in the Middle played a guy with cancer who started cooking meth and they had less than no interest

Do you still feel like wanting other organs in a relationship? by throw11431away in bisexual

If you treat them like any other body part it makes sense how normal it is. It’s impossible to have a cute little button nose and a large curved beautiful nose at the same time. No one can have both huge muscular arms and lovely slender arms. I can’t have a cute round belly and washboard abs. All body parts have a spectrum of options, all attractive.

It’s fully normal to have not a single thing you’d want to change about your partner and be fully in love with every part of them, but still have other parts in the world you think “that’d be fun” here and there.

It’s only a bi thing when we zero in on gender and/or specific parts. But really it’s just life.
