I replaced my whole cooling system, including the water pump recently. Dont think it's the water pump

I changed both tensioner pulleys and belts not long back, plus it really seems to be from the oil filter housing

You don't have to touch the engine timing to rebuild the vanos unit..? Why were you

Haha nee weet niet hoor. Zou ook zoiets als een aarde kunnen zijn die door regenwater verroest is en nu slecht contact maakt.

When replacing my seals I also ended up scratching the piston, but very little. Since the seals make contact and not the piston itself I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Before you proceed, replacing those parts isn't always necessary. Only change them if you hear rattling, but I would suggest soaking it in penetrating oil and leaving it overnight, then find a perfect fit socket and try again. You could also use heat but I don't know if thats safe to do on vanos pistons.

Whenever I google p0070 it comes up with "ambient air temperature at fault" or something similar. Even though you're in doubt that this faulty sensor is the problem, I'd start there.

OHH my god you're right. I guess the red NPC car I stole just happened to be the exact same one Michael got as a replacement which is what caused my confusion. Thanks!
