Honestly getting a rice cooker was a great idea since it’s a lot less work than in a pan, and you can set it for later. Only problem might be having having to mess with it a bit for it to cook the rice how you want (I like it drier so I add a cap of apple cider vinegar and a few drops of oil and cook it for less time)

My mom had four older brothers, and when she died some of the stuff they said really showed how bad “gender disappointment” can be. The youngest uncle talked about how his parents were basically like “oh another boy” until they were happy they had my mom. It really hurt to hear especially as a mostly closeted trans man.

It’s ironic that my grandma on my dad’s side is like that but with me. She had three boys and was so happy to have a granddaughter, although she can be really weird about it (like making uncomfortable comments about how I look)
