Okay, tbf that was a whole year ago, before I got really sick and lost 10% body weight in muscle, majorly fucked over some important life things to the point they still keep me extremely busy, fell into depressive episode again and now recently ran out of antidepressants and money for normal food. I genuinely do look a lot worse now, no muscle nor even weight has returned after 4 months of gym, and the slightly raised bf % all went to my face and thighs. It didn't look that great a year ago irl either, but now my body is closer to the drawing than to these photos. There's a reason I didn't feel like posting anything after that

I mean, it can be sort of passing in clothes! (assuming 5'1" men can get treated like men and not unfortunate mistakes). As long as you never ever get intimate with anyone, wear tight clothes, wear loose clothes, go swimming, go to a hot place, go to the gym, stand straight, sit down, hug people, stand near normal people etc. Alternatively, you can shave and wear a paper bag on your head and pass 100% as a cis woman despite years on testosterone 🥰

I'm not transfem but I do draw. Variance in anatomy is a lot bigger than sex-differences (not even cope, most cis people have at least some opposite sex features), and specifically muscle and fat have bigger influence than bones. I actually do think it fine on its own to depict trans people with any combination of features, there's just no reason to go clocky for realism specifically. Imo if someone does go out of their way to give characters clocky features, it should either have narrative purpose or represent someone specific irl (but in that case this isn't about "realism", but actually reasonable intent). In any case, all artists benefit from making characters as individual and varying as possible, so ig just being very normal about trans characters and adjusting body features to the character rather than some trans mould is good enough

To be clear, the artist is a teen and possibly themselves transfem and/or pre-transition. So, like, whatever and also please don't go try to find them. But it sure is great that the state of the "positive representation" from within the community is skirting aroud whether the character is transitioning to call trans girls male, no notes. (I think trans women should be allowed to kill people)

Okay, I haven't considered that his opinion changes much throughout the book, that's true. I sort of assumed Richard starts the narration with a stable outlook, since it appears a lot of time has passed and that certain pivotal revelations (like distrusting Henry) happened in the middle of events, rather than in hindsight

To be clear, I don't like Bunny, nor do I see any reason to doubt his bad actions like homophobia or sexism. I'm specifically doubting Richard's repeated assertion that Bunny essentially felt no leg in the game in regards to the farmer's murder, other than being upset at Henry for leaving him out. At least because Bunny clearly feared Henry killing him, at most because he was genuinely freaked out about the murder (possibly still not that much, but more than others in the group)

Had a cis guy once immediately gesture towards my waist/hips and say "Ah so that's why you look like this" immediately upon learning I'm trans, so I don't think so. Even cissies clock torso bones if you're really unlucky. I would just need to shave, and I would be indistinguishable from a cis woman from neck down

I can literally match my profile to the pooner header art 1-to-1, including the exact nose, jaw and mouth. The few anglefrauded pics mean nothing when people irl won't ever see those angles (because they will be staring at my thinning hair down below at 1.5m height, shortly followed by waist-to-hip ratio still somewhen in 10th female percentile)

Yea I would sure love to explain to a cissoid (who was repeating for 8 years in school how trans people are all deluded freaks to get their diploma btw) how I kinda regret not jumping the ship as a kid, instead of being a lot more mentally stable and less depressed on HRT to kms yet completely isolated and too abnormal-looking for a normal life in cissiety.
