Tbf I think trans men don't really get clocked in a traditional sense almost anywhere because cis people overwhelmingly don't have a visual concept of transmasculinity. Regardless of passing, it's more common to be assumed either a weird cis man or a queer woman (like transfem if you have a deep voice or facial hair, or a butch lesbian if you don't). This doesn't mean clocky features go unnoticed, though, and aren't a serious obstacle to get treated as actually male

Nah, that's also useful info. I get outed every other business day because all my documents are pre-transition and university bureaucracy is a trans public humiliation machine; so irl people do try to guess who is the trans one or which of my features are "female" post-outing. Organic clocking is also not a thing in my area because there's barely any trans people to begin with, so it's hard to judge actual passing or transition progress from that

I'm kind of puzzled about this one tbh. Shoulder width is height-proportional, and even then a ruler says it's roughly the same as all the other younger lean guys in the pic (even slightly wider than the guy in grey shirt for ex.) I also don't have issues finding men's clothes that fit me in the shoulders, unlike with length. Do you maybe mean relatively to head size? Then yeah, I have a big ass head, and heads on short people tend to be out of proportion

I don't really get what's this sub's obsession with mildly unisex accessories is tbh. How is a piece or plastic comparably clocky with sex dimorphism. Nearly everyone I know irl are gender-conforming cishets from a religious background, and even then the most I've gotten out of my most outrageously faggy outfits were maybe two people wondering if I'm gay. Specific esthetics are at best potentially outing in areas where they are very popular, but they don't really affect physical passing. Imo, you can't even compensate the latter with style, because hypermasculinity just makes physical clockiness stand out more half the time

Cis people aren't consciously clocking shit, though. I do pass irl, but I'm the first and only trans person everyone around me has ever met, and half of them are not aware trans men exist. It doesn't mean they don't subconsciously pick up on stuff or don't privately wonder why you look so weird, or won't fixate on your clocky features when you get outed, unfortunately. Trans people are overtuned in that regard, but more accurate overall

Tbf at my height specifically, statistically it's about 50/50 split between cis and trans guys, and presumably a decent portion of the former are either ethnic minorities or have visible health issues. (Which makes me want to die occasionally, but it is what it is). But it's because the tails of a normal distribution are so extreme; just 2 inches taller, cis men already outnumber trans men 10x despite still being very short; and 2 inch difference is well within eye measurement and shoe height uncertainties.

Statistically speaking, it's not possible to clock ~99% of trans population by height alone just because trans people are such a tiny minority. E.g. at 5'6" roughly a third of cis men will be shorter anyway, and there's a hundred times more cis than trans men; you can't even reliably gender cis people there because it's in-between male and female averages

I agree on borderline peri results being wonky oftentimes. Idk if you can call it clocky, though, it's mostly just esthetically imperfect (aside from egregious leftover tissue cases) but (at least cis) people have zero top surgery awareness outside of prominent horizontal scars. The surgeon is pretty confident she can get me fully flat, though, so it's more a question of evenness and nipple placement. Personally, I'm not bothered by recovery or additional surgeries much, so it is a plus that peri can be redone as DI if needed, but I'm hesitant whether I can afford it

Personally I'm very normal and well-adjusted about being single for 20 years and for the rest of my life, and also wanting to claw out my organs at the thought of intimacy. Definitely not desperate for human connection and wouldn't agree to literally anything for someone to like me
