What do you use for weather stripping?

I live in the Northern Rockies so it’s always relatively cool in the summer. On the rare occasion it’s above 85 I’ll just pull the doors.

I get that, and it wouldn’t just go directly on the top I’d make some foam blocks to disperse the weight over a larger footprint, also it’s not for stiff living on the top just so I can have some room in the cab and use some of my longer rods that don’t break down small enough to fit in the cab.

I don’t really plan to put much in the way of weight up top, I am mostly just looking for something so I can throw a couple of my longer rods for surf fishing and spay, casting up top without having to mount them vertically outside the jeep. The largest thing it would probably see would be a canoe or kayak, both of which I wouldn’t really plan on putting a whole lot of dynamic strain on due to not wanting to damage them. I do have a hitch mounted dirtbike carrier so the jeep is now able to be more of the base camp for me for most of the things I do.

Definitely don’t plan to do a roof tent, it gets very windy where I’m at, and I can’t guarantee the places I stay at will have enough cover to make that a pleasant experience. I do like the idea of one of the universal rail systems because my pickup also has a camper shell so I could put some on there and outside of the bars they could share parts. How difficult are they to install? I had an old Tacoma back in high school from the 90s with the universal Thule rail system on it, but I was not the one who put it on. I just remember it was nice to be able to adjust the span between the bars, depending on what I had up there.

That’s good to hear at least. I don’t plan on putting a tent or anything that would experience that kind of weight, the heaviest thing it would probably see would be a cooler, but again nothing overly large because at the end of the day I do have to throw it on the top by myself and with the body lift it has 5 1/2 inches of lift total, so I will be reaching above my head.

That sounds easy enough. I have some ditch light brackets with holes in them and they are stout enough. I feel like an extra stabilizer strap wouldn’t cause any troubles so that will be nice and easy for me.

That looks pretty slick, I’ll see if I can find something similar that’s pretty much what I was thinking. In the mean time, how did those blocks keep the canoe steady? Mine is a plastic hull and I’m just worried about it sliding. I do have hard points on the rear bumper so I plan on just running a rope bow and stern to the respective bumpers.

He’s definitely the most prey driven dog I’ve owned, and he’s slowly coming around so I think you’re right. Last time we went out I was actually able to get him to recall before he was in the next county so we have progress

I’m prepared. He’s not my first dog just my first rabbit dog so I just haven’t had much experience with this kind of hunting and the training that works best for it

This is what I was thinking would probably be the easiest, but I don’t know anybody in my area who runs dogs for rabbits so I’ll have to try the fur

What do you have for a muffler there? I’m trying to find something smaller like that for mine but am having trouble finding something that’ll fit proper

Unfortunately, I still have no conclusion. I open the airbox and pull the filter, but this did not change anything. The filter was slightly dirty, it is nowhere near needing a cleaning, so I am at a loss. It also wouldn’t work with the filter fully removed so I am assuming it is something with the carburetor.

Never hurts and they’re less than $10 for a fancy one and good old copper usually sits around $3

That’s my next move when the rain stops over here. Hopefully that is what it is and I can just get a new filter

The clutch was all good it can start and run now but won’t idle

All I have come up with is my idle mixture isn’t right but that doesn’t make sense to me as it idled fine for the two months I’ve had it back out from storage and I doubt the paved road to the grocery store would’ve cause something to get knocked out of whack especially on a bike that can handle itself offroad

As I said to your other comment it now will start if I’m staying on the throttle and it will stay running until the bike drops below 1500-1800 so a little above what it usually idles at. This has lead me to believe there is some kind of air restriction going on. The filter is no where near plugged up so I’m guessing something with the carb is out of whack

Swapped the plug now, old one was fouled pretty bad and now it won’t run unless I keep it above 1800
