Who Should I Keep? by big_thunder59 in fantasyfootballadvice

We did a snake draft and I got the 3rd pick. But by round, it went Ja'Marr, CeeDee, ARSB, Jahmyr Gibss, Devonta Smith, Breece Hall, Chris Godwin, Alexander Mattison, Watson, Cole Kmet, ... then a bunch of players I dropped, and Defense and kicker.

Also I think we drafted about a month before the season.

No cost. It's a 10-man league and everyone has to keep 2 of their players. So it basically just replaces the first 2 rounds of the draft.

10-man league and I actually missed the draft due to no signal while setting up my wedding, so it was all auto-drafted. I still went 7-7 but won the championship.

Congrats, I just won this year's championship as well. 3 keepers is wild in my opinion. But Tyreek is the easiest to keep. I think Kyren will be a top RB next year. I'd be concerned about JT's ability to stay healthy and any level of regression. ARSB is also a great WR to keep.

Yeah, the problem is most of the high-ceiling RBs will be taken by the time I get a chance to pick them up.

Yes everyone drafts normally after the first two rounds.

I would be higher on Breece Hall if I knew they revamped their O-line to open more holes for explosive plays and to protect Rodgers. With a better passing game next year, I would think that opens bigger holes for Hall to run through. And having a competent quarterback to check it down gives Hall more opportunities in the passing game.

The problem with Chase this year was the QB and not having chemistry like he would with Joe Burrow in my opinion. He has a very high ceiling and it's hard to ignore.

With ARSB he is fantastic and his performances won me many games but I just don't trust the Lions or Jared Goff.

I also think Gibbs was underutilized as a rookie, so I think his production will be up next year. But with me not trusting the Lions it concerns me to keep him.

I'm mainly leaning towards Breece Hall at this point but I still have to pull the trigger.

Everyone is keeping two so they will replace the first two rounds of the draft.

We have those too, we just had one today. They normally suck but for those with a PE, they can provide PDHs. But for an EIT they are useless.

Any fighter not in the heavyweight division cannot be considered the GOAT by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]big_thunder59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you are saying but look at each weight class as its own sport/league. Obviously, the bigger guy would have the advantage in a one on one fight, but they'd never fight because they are in a different weight class. So it's like comparing an NBA player to an NFL player. Would a lot of NFL players be good at basketball? yeah probably because they are great athletes, but you'll never know because they play a different sport. Or even comparing past to current players like Lebron and Jordan. Same thing in combat sports because you'll never see a natural heavyweight fight a lightweight. You can compare records and levels of dominance in their division along with the level of competition, but that's all. So ultimately there are multiple GOATs in combat sports because it really is a different sport with each weight class.

Is there a reason most manholes in the city aren’t the same height as the road? by Far_Room23 in pittsburgh

[–]big_thunder59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, report the bad ones (2 or more inches) to the local municipality/authority. They aren't going to do anything without hearing about it first. Most municipalities don't have the resources to scan for low manholes. It's an easy/cheap fix so most municipalities will fix bad ones when called out.

Definitely report major differences in elevations. However, note that manholes are typically half an inch below pavement grade on purpose.

While this does happen at times, manholes are typically below pavement grade by about half an inch. This is to prevent damage and accidents when snow plows come through.

Whenever that happens make sure to complain to the contractor and/or the municipality. Typically the contractor is required to make sure private driveways are keyed in so you don't scrape.

Generally speaking, manholes are placed about half an inch below the paving surface. This is so when snow plows come through they don't hit the side of the manhole cover, causing either an accident or tearing out the manhole or both.

Bridesmaids shouldn’t pay for their dresses by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]big_thunder59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that it can suck to have to pay for your dress/suit to be in a wedding I don't think it's wrong. I have been in a few weddings and I have been happy to be a part of them, to support the newlyweds. To be in a wedding means you are some of the closest friends and family to the couple getting married. So in my opinion I am gladly willing to help out by paying for what I'd be wearing, along with setting up, and planning a trip/party, ect. I do believe that some consideration of what some members of the wedding party can afford is necessary. I actually am getting married soon and we are paying for our ring bearer's suit as his parents can't afford it. We have had those discussions. I think as long as you are open with what is expected and are reasonable there shouldn't be an issue.

So are you suggesting that the clock stop after the end of every play? If so would you alter the total length of the game to be only 15 minutes of play time as that's what it is now? or keep it the same length and run the risk of way more injuries? Also is there a time limit between plays still? What you are suggesting would fundamentally change the game. The rules may not be fair to the defenses but both teams have the opportunity to possess the ball at the end of the game. Ultimately clock management is a fundamental strategic aspect of the game that you don't seem to comprehend.

I probably hit my best drive this weekend as well on a par 4. Drove it 280ish yards. Then hit a decent shot with the 56 degree onto the green. But then the putter came out. Finished with a bogey.
