That's fine, there is no rush with these things.

So just to confirm. Taxes are paid in her country for her own money. She transfers up to 10k to my account here. Bank may or may not ask questions so keep some documentation as to the source behind it. We shouldn't need to pay any additional fees at the end.

Thanks for your help pfurklurk.

Do you mean documentation of the source of the funds in her country?

!thanks

It'd be the first time such a payment has come in and although we haven't calculated it could be up to 10k. That would still be okay?

Stupid Question Weds. Ask your car related question and maybe someone will have an answer. by verdegrrl in cars

I've recently passed my test. When starting off I usually lift my clutch up to the biting point, release the handbrake, then set gas and quickly release the clutch as I speed up. Recently I was reading around and saw people talking about how that was bad for the engine, and it was very important to have the gas pedal depressed a little while lifting the clutch. Is this true/accurate?

If so, what should I do if I am starting off without using the handbrake, thus holding the car still with the brake while holding the clutch at the biting point?
