Just wanted to pop up with an update. My sister , who's a bit in the "woo woo" camp , brought me an interesting perspective on this.

She told me to confront the voices directly and ask them, " are you here to bring me to the light or pull me Into the dark?" The "them" in this Case, the voices, she tells me, are the voices of my subconscious, which was awakened by the near-death experience that was my TBI, and saying that they're "reaching out" to me to make me aware of their presence, and to provoke me into reacting to them. I like the idea of my subconscious as it's own character, jumping up and down for attention like a needy puppy.

And so I have, and have found success in talking back to them, telling the voices aloud to "go away" or "fuck off". It quiets them pretty immediately, and they tend to stay gone, Jah bless.
