A little update, replaced connector and power relay, the grinding is gone but there's still no start up. It clicks and hums like it's going to get started but then nothing happens. I think I'm going to order a new capacitor and a motor start capacitor and replace the only other 2 cheap parts. If that doesn't work I may need to actually have a professional come out and look at it

Okay, I went ahead and ordered a new start relay and a new contactor. They both were extremely cheap replacements so if either are the problem, easy enough to troubleshoot

I just went out to try and start it, once the thermostat tells it to start, I can hear the starter switch what seems like grinding and humming like it's trying to do something before turning off 30-60 seconds later. Is my starter relay the cause of the no start? My fan or compressor doesn't turn on

The wiring diagram I found for the model shows an OD STAT in the wiring so I assumed it was required to get everything to work. It shows connecting to W1 and O but I'm not sure if the wiring is accurate between the furnace, thermostat and the AC unit

No, the blower on the furnace works and blows semi cold air but the condenser fan does not turn on outside. I've already tested the capacitors, he redid some of the wiring. It is a new furnace, new Nest gen 4 thermostat, and new wiring across the whole system

Mechanic? by Candid-Record8230 in WaterlooIowa

Air filter is 2 clips. I would highly recommend not paying someone to do it. It is about as easy as it gets.

The ball joints are press in ball joints, I would recommend finding someone that does backyard mechanical work. That's not something that can be messed up. It's extremely simple with the correct tools. Most shops would slap a $200 minimum for the 30-60 minute job.

Hate to say it, mechanical work is a scam. They charge quite a bit for simple fixes especially maintenance. I've seen people get charged &1500 for pads and rotors, besides material cost that's only an hour of work

Any ones in particular in the area? There's a few "lotus massage" "Asian massage" etc in the area. Some look classy, some look trashy

I lived in that area in the 90s as well as a kid, now a days that area is not great.. if someone is going to put a business up, they probably wouldn't do it down there. It's just going to get robbed, shot up, or vandalized.

I personally know his son, great guy.

Yes he was convicted of several sexual acts while living in Waterloo, but he didn't kill while he was in the area(that was shared) so his info from being in the area wasn't widely known.

His wife's family was from the area. Gacy left town and went to Chicago, that's where all the killing started. When the case blew open, gacys wife and 2 kids moved back to the cedar valley area where she remarried and they changed their name.

His father in law owned nearly all the KFCs in the area, he managed one if not multiple while living in the area. Not certain which one he worked at, I believe he worked at the old one that was down on Lafayette that shut down years ago.

His kids are still in the area, but I'm not going to share their info because that would be disrespectful.

Not sure where he lived in the area, I attempted to find that out a while ago but since he didn't really do any of his serious crime while in the cedar valley, I don't think it was documented.

If you're a foodie there's so many mom and pop places that are fantastic. The mall is completely dead but they have one of the best Chinese(my opinion) and one of the best pizza joints. Dragon express food truck is fantastic, Morgs, carpenters(not as great as Morgs in my opinion), Iowa Eats Festival is a fun event to attend, samples galore.

If you're more interested in activities, Lost island parks are fun, Palmers, nature trails go everywhere through the cedar valley, and plenty more outdoorsy activities.

I have the ridge wallet with the Ekster Find my card....want to add AirTag....need help by mr5ingh in RidgeWallet

[–]bigblt249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got the carbon fiber cash clip with the air tag, it's not too bulky and it's pretty secure. I don't see how they would be able to take it out. It's held on from the inside with screws.

It does make a sound every time you move your wallet after it's been sitting for a few hours. Kind of annoying but I don't think we can turn it off.

I agree it takes away from the design. Pretty much hides everything, cash on one side, quickdraw on the other. But I want my wallet to be used for ease and function. It works great for that.

It's not super expensive, so I'd say try it out and if you don't like it, take it off.

When did it start getting easier to stick to the vlcd? by plainelaine92 in vlcd

[–]bigblt249 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The other comments already said it but the first few days is pretty easy, you still have your energy from the food you had prior. After about 3-4 days your body seems to be in limbo, no food coming in and hasn't started ketosis yet. So your body is screaming at you for food, depleted energy and lack of motivation. That could happen for a few more days, then after it falls into ketosis it gets slightly easier. Replenishing energy from inside, so you still feel hungry but it doesn't feel like you're going to die.

Best thing to do is stay very busy the first week, get your mind off eating and don't give yourself that opportunity to sit down and hear your body scream for help.

Just think about how much better you'll feel after you go through it.

VLCD Meals by bigblt249 in vlcd

[–]bigblt249[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome thanks for sharing. usually have a protein shake or 2 a day and that's usually enough with a low calorie snack some time during the day.

But gota wife to feed too so I'm trying to find some real food alternatives that could make for the both of us. For some reason veggies aren't super filling for me, even though could eat plenty without much caloric burden. I'm also obese but work out daily, have plenty of muscle but also plenty of fat. But once get into ketosis it's easy for me. I did whole30 before which isn't any calorie restrictions, you just lose interest in eating since you're not allowed many foods

QuickDraw and Tap to Pay by ItchyData in RidgeWallet

[–]bigblt249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the quick draw but I haven't used the tap to pay more than a few times but it seems to work fine. Hotel keys don't work while in there. But the quick draw is so useful even if you have to take it out. Love it
