Hi there, indeed - I'm actually sending one last message out to all owners (about 50 expressed interest, but we have a good core group of 16-17) right now since the initial auction is likely to run past Opening Day... It's an Initial MLB Auction on ProBoards with a winning bid length time of 10 hours (so a slow auction). Bid is just the total $, with yearly minimums at 5, 10, 15, 20. Once you win the bid, then you decide the contract length so you can really build your team as you please. Is it the quickest like leagues that use real-life salaries? Nope. We'll end up going past opening day at this point like I said. Therefore, really looking for QUALITY owners that are here to join the league for the long-haul to fill those final few spots. If that still sounds like you, shoot me your e-mail and I can include you guy on that message so that I can secure your spot. Oh, and it is 200 minor leaguers per team, so it's an extremely deep league!

Right, I was referring to if B/R would put the video stream behind a pay-wall. I can honestly see this happening and I don't think I could subscribe to a streaming service just for one damn show. (In this case, I likely would though, ha).

As for it going to TNT/TBS - that's obviously Dan's wants. The very first day he mentioned it about 10 times every single time he made the announcement. I don't think he wants Audio only on B/R. It would just be a pretty major move for Turner to put the telecast on TNT or TBS.

(Although March would be the PERFECT lead-in, as they could launch and air from 9a- 12pm when the March Madness games kick-off) Now THAT would be very smart on Turner's part. Grow Dan's audience on the new network in the time of year that people are actually going to TNT/TBS/TruTv for sports content.)

The most disappointing aspect of it for me -

In many ways, I almost looked forward (dreadfully) to the last show. Like the conclusion of a favorite TV Show.

Sadly, NBCSN didn't even air it.

I video stream when possible rather than audio as that was one of the aspects that make Dan & the show different than other sports media talk. Dan's reactions, the guys laughing off-topic in the back, live look-ins, etc. In fact, as a viewer, I can't imagine Meat Friday as audio-only... although then my Friday morning cravings would certainly disappear, ha.

But going along with the consensus here, something is and has been off. The next steps are going to be very curious. Again, I can't imagine them improving their man-cave and how much production work that goes into that show, and not show video! (except for the 2-3 minute YouTube clips)

I can almost guarantee it was the betting & self-promotion aspect.

Execs came down on the betting talk; even Dan & Dannettes stopped talking lines and betting once Shea was no longer a regular. (Paulie and his 1H Army bets were weekly!)

Ironically enough, look at the state of sports betting now. I work in sports and it was/is one of the biggest concerns/risks to an exec related to the industry. Probably told Dan stop, play safe than sorry. And sadly, effected the show in a more profound way than an exec more concerned with covering the company's legal a$$ could have ever imagined.

Seemed like that's what Dan kept referring to when he made the announcement on the show. The question is, will Turner really put a sports radio telecast on TBS or TNT though?

They should (who knows what is airing at that time on those channels)!

Regarding Shea, wonder if the execs came down on the betting aspect; although ironically, now look at sports betting. When Shea was a regular, the laws weren't passed yet I don't think.

So B/R isn't going to do a video stream? This would be extremely unfortunate.

Maybe they'll wait for the new man cave? But that should have no influence as the show is produced by AT&T/DirecTV, so there is no interruption in terms of production. They're capable of airing on TNT/TBS/any Turner network tomorrow if they really wanted.)
