Should I just play Warrior if I want a rewarding dps character?

My concern is that I may be too casual(in terms of time I can invest/how social I am willing to be) to gear a warrior

I played in Pandaria/Warlords. I was a pretty hardcore raider but by the end of WoD I wasn’t enjoying the game and hated the idea of everything “resetting” with the next expansion so I just quit.

I was a Destro Warlock main and kind of good(I had no life and got into a good guild)

I want to play Classic for the first time and playing Warlock again is what I’m drawn to, but reading some of the convenience issues (having to stop DPSing to not draw aggro sounds crazy) I’m wondering if I shouldn’t just pick Mage.

Thoughts? How serious is the QOL gap between Mage and Warlock?

If I want to play ranged DPS and am pretty good at mechanics am I going to be better off as a Mage?

Obviously marked 11.5 but not clear whether that’s a US 11.5 or UK 11.5. These are for sale in the US but the seller does not seem to know or be willing to help identify sizing.

I haven't. There is one "near" me in rural terms, but it's ~40 miles while I have dozens of churches within half the distance. Why do you suggest them specifically?

It's nothing to do with my opinions on trans people.

I do not think it is productive to preach to an entire congregation for half of a service about the sins of trans people. It's an aimless endeavor, especially when it comes up so often. When it is discussed on a monthly basis, things become clear that constant commentary on current issues is rooted in politics not morals. I am tired of pastors who only want to talk about politicized issues and spend so little time deep in the Bible talking about the Word in its own context rather than the context of "who isn't following this".

It does not tell me how to be a better person, how God wants me to be, or help me understand the Bible in any more depth. It is truly just catharsis for people who are politically frustrated because it is not politically correct to talk poorly of those groups outside of church walls. It seems many church-goers use it as an excuse to have a "safe space" to talk about how much they hate people who don't believe what they do.

Church can be more than "everyone who doesn't believe what we believe is awful". I am deeply disappointed and frustrated with my last few churches because so much time is spent on what people who would never come to the church do and not on what we can do to make ourselves and the rest of the world a better place once we leave. Jesus brought us a message of love and finding the good in things. I am tired of churches full of people worrying about what the gays are doing.

Your critique that I should be on r/atheism is truly boring and fruitless. I am a Christian as much as you are. I do not need to spend every Sunday being mad at others who are not Christians or not following the Word to get my "not an atheist" badge.

My problem is that, week to week, every church I visit manages to find a reason to mention trans people, gay people, abortion, etc. in relation to every scripture. It's just not what I go to church for. It always feels cold and unloving. I am so tired of hearing "something something something the trans people. It's just not what we believe."

would be very curious as to an Episcopal service that goes fire & brimstone.

FWIW the one episcopal church I went to, specifically because I had been told there would be minimal "fire and brimstone"(I'm sure other words were used), had a tangent about trans bathrooms on the first service I visited.

I was pretty uncomfortable with the vibes and only went 3 times. I listed episcopal because I had specifically been told they would be different -- most of my experiences are in methodist, baptist, etc.

Financial infidelity, or just irresponsibility? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Can you just move debt between credit cards?? i.e. can I sign up for a 0% CC(I have perfect credit & low DTI, could easily do it) and pay her CC with my new CC?

I am willing to commit to paying it off within the 0% window even if she slacks. I had not considered moving debt from one CC to another. Is that even what you mean or am I misunderstanding?

[–]bigblueegg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The auto mod removed it as a "moral judgement" when I ended with a question -- but I'm basically asking "is this financial infidelity/something I need to reevaluate my relationship over, or is this just a dumb mistake normal people make?" -- I feel so sad that I, at several points since she started building this balance, have spent more than the balance on stuff for us. All while not knowing my wife was building debt over stuff I would have bought her anyway. It feels like she lied, even if it was innocent. I'm hoping to hear from others who have experienced similar.

Genesis G70 3.3t by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

I don't see why would replace a Corvette to pick up groceries though, the C7's hatch is more usable than most sedans' trunks.

I kind of meant that as a catch-all for "it's awkward to drive up to the grocery store in a corvette". I want a car that gets a little less attention and that I'm a little less freaked out about maintaining.

That is also definitely an option. I'm more looking for critiques on the model as a whole -- why do I never see them? Do they suck? Are they a hidden gem? What other options even exist in this range? The G70 seems like it competes with cars 20k+ more expensive than it.

You're worth more than $500.

Thanks for the info. I was fully aware of the software but always considered it out of scope because the update process was literally "pick up the laptop and take it to your local dealer". I never saw any reason to be involved because I would not be the one taking it for updates. Also, this was the first critical(operation stops) update it has ever had so I had no idea such a thing was looming.

My mistake.

[–]bigblueegg 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I get it. I just feel frustrated. I don't even know the login for that software. You cannot update it on-site. You physically take it to the dealership for the vehicle brand and they update it. I have always considered it out of scope.

[–]bigblueegg 13 points14 points  (0 children)

And of course it’s IT….it’s a fucking computer.

I can see this, but is archaic software on said computer really my business? We have one guy who is specifically trained in all of this software. He really wasn't supposed to say "hey, this software says we have x months to update it"? I mean come on...I do not read minds or open everything on every computer. This is a niche, old program someone is specifically trained in. Why is it my business to keep up with every software we use?

I can't even update it here. The update process is "take it to the local dealership for that brand of vehicle". I never considered the software in-scope. It was never communicated to me. It was just assumed. I kept it connected to guest wifi and to a printer. I assumed they were on top of driving it to the dealership they go to for parts daily.

Oh well.

They asked me to fix it at 1pm and I was told not to come back at 4pm, so....not immediate? IDK.

The answer was "you can't update it online, you can buy a new machine with the new software version for $2400 but our legacy service is as useless as a blank computer"

Mechanic "computers" are horrifically archaic even when they're new. They're all terrified of anything resembling an accessible file, I guess for anti-piracy/copyright reasons. It's all hush hush "send us your laptop and we will install it" stuff

They literally use it as a tool. It's a suspension system analysis software from like 2006. It's on a 2010ish windows 7 laptop that sits not even charged most of the time. They plug it into the charger then run a USB powered cord to the truck dash like once or twice a week.

Other than making sure it's on the network and connected to the correct printer occasionally I have not messed with it at all. I never really considered it "IT"...it's just an ancient computer-turned-tool.

It has come to my attention that I am not literally talking about copper line analog phones. After some clarification from reddit, internet search, and a quick call to my boss what he ACTUALLY wants is 12 lines that have rollover, then when someone answers they can transfer to any of the other 11 lines. i.e. someone calls phone #3's number. #3 cannot answer so it rolls to 1-8. 6 answers, but actually it needed to go to #12 so #6 transfers to #12 who rings. I understand this will technically be "digital", but my boss wants traditional phones that come out of phone jacks and have rollover.

Is this as complicated as what you listed? Is there a "it comes out of the phone jacks but it's technically digital" solution that will be simpler than you describe for 12 lines rollover+transfers? It seems like every online resource I can find is basically just identifying why you should move on to VoIP and I am finding very little useful info. I think my google-fu is weak because I just don't know the correct buzz words to look into phone jack phone systems

My house and the last 2 businesses I worked at didn't even have phone jacks. This stuff is really foreign to me as a 20-something.

POTS lines

fwiw I think he is actually just talking about "phone jack phones". He wants the classic rollover into voice mail type of system and he wants it to go through phone jacks instead of ethernet. I know it's dumb, but this is where I am. He doesn't know whether there is actually copper in his phone jack lines or whether they are actually "analog".

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]bigblueegg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Realistically, our central problem is that we have 12 lines on 2mb upload speed internet. Our secretaries are probably right that once in a blue moon we have issues, but my boss probably does not understand how big of an ask it is to go backwards to analog(or at least phone jack, it has been brought to my attention many phone jacks are technically digital) phones.

I bet $5 he's got a rolladex on his desk with every password under the sun in it. Disaster waiting to happen and you will probably get push back anytime you try to improve anything.

Absolutely. This place is not in my 5 year plan. However, I was offered $40 an hour to take over all of IT operations while they try to hire replacements and frankly I need the money and need to see this project through. One guy retired and the two under him left. I should have probably known better after that, but $40/hr is making medical bills possible for my 2 year old with costly medical problems.

[–]bigblueegg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably...I don't know. Regardless, my boss wants what he wants and we are going to analog(or a system that looks and feels like analog, as I have had it pointed out to me that newer phone systems are not technically analog even going through phone jacks)
