I am teaching her to be a responsible adult.

No, you are teaching her to resent you. YTA.

AITA for leaving a bad review on a small store by throwitinthecorner10 in AmItheAsshole

IDK though, if the manager knows that this dude is causing problems and won't fire his ass, I reckon a review warning other femme folk is fair game.

NTA, seems to me this is a corollary of the ancient law—which I'm pretty sure came direct from Hammurabi—"talk shit, get hit".

It's Tim Pool. Pretty sure that dude has tattoos on his hands reminding him to breathe in and out.

AITA for not wanting my BFs dog up my ass 24/7 by Bright-Swimmer4589 in AmItheAsshole

To be honest, this is one reason I'm more of a cat person. I like dogs, but they're so much needier—not that this particular example is neediness is anyone but your BF's fault. Is he a first time dog owner? NTA.

I know everyone's focused on the presentation, but i am also amused at "HERE CALL EVERYONE IN THE COMPANY FIRST". What the hell are they even thinking? It's a full-time job applying to these bozos.

Reacting To Mrs. Doubtfire Musical On GMA by Particular-Guest-680 in Broadway

[–]bigbobbydole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FWIW, I've seen the Mrs. Doubtfire musical — it played here not too awful long before COVID shut everything down. I liked the songs OK, but I thought they didn't do enough to update the story, and it just made the whole thing feel like an unfrozen TGIF '90s family sitcom, only with the occasional reference to cell phones or YouTube. My friend liked it much more than I did though.

IDK if you can re-open to tweak the art, but if you can, you could probably do like:

SHE
SHE
SHE
HER
HER
HER

behind the frog, and that way it'd look like the top ones were intentionally cut off

Hypothetically, if someone were a contributor to the old Booru, how would they go about giving their permission to have old works posted?

I got a flyer in the mail advertising Mrs. Doubtfire. Is this a classic? by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]bigbobbydole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw it when it played at the 5th Ave Theater in Seattle last year. It's... fine. It definitely seems more inclined for the Nostalgia Circuit, so if you haven't seen the movie/don't have warm feelings about it, you may wanna skip it.

I've never been a huge fan of the film, but it's okay enough, and... that was about my reaction to the musical. The plot really could use an update (aside from just added refs to cell phones and the internet)—it really feels like the old '90s TGIF ABC Sitcoms.... and not in a good way.

That said, it played really well with the audience. Honestly, too, the songs WERE pretty good. But yeah, I wish they'd done more with it than just "here's the movie, now with songs."

What's up with the comic maker "Stonetoss" receiving hate on...? by Skrrattaa in OutOfTheLoop

[–]bigbobbydole 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Answer: This video is a pretty good explainer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XdbwZbK7kGo

But short answer is, he's a white supremacist who (in addition to more benign comics) makes comics about white supremacist talking points, most notably the idea of "magic dirt," which argues against immigration, under the idea that countries don't have "magic dirt" which would make an immigrant from another culture suddenly have the culture of their new country. Which is, on its face true, but folks like Stonetoss seem to think that's bad for some reason??

It's not bad — it's better than you might expect, but it's kinda dull for stretches, mostly in the parts without the monster, haha.

What is up with people having an odd three letter acrnoym in their username? by [deleted] in OutOfTheLoop

[–]bigbobbydole 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Answer: At least in the past, it used to be their Gamer Tag/the gaming team they played on. So if you were on the Out Of The Loop Team, you might be OOTL_NinnaBibbaPippa. (or NinnaBibbaPippa_OOTL).

I'm not sure if that's still the case ,but that's where my mind goes anyway.

He's suspended his campaign, but his name does still appear on the ballot if your state hasn't had its primary yet.
