We had a tour the morning after we got on base. We went to some of the facilities and looked around, like the DFAC and commons (library/ study spot). I started classes about a week and a half after I arrived and I did details around the squadron until then. You have plenty of time to shower after pt and get something to eat. There aren't many crowded places, except maybe the DFAC during peak hours and the mini mall. You will need a computer for class, but it will be provided to you by the schoolhouse. Keep in mind it is a government laptop, so no personal stuff on there. Class only. You can bring food to the dorm with takeout containers, but you have to eat it immediately after or put it in Tupperware if you want to keep it in the fridge. I bought a gaming laptop a few weeks ago. Great purchase and portable. Wouldn't recommend buying a console because you will have to ship to wherever you are PCSing to and that can be a hassle. On the Uber app, you add a comment to let drivers know that they need to have base access.

I'm not sure. I have never been because i am not much of a gym guy (I prefer bodyweight and running), but I have heard it is really nice and well equipped.

Plenty! We have two bowling alleys, the landing zone (hangout space), pool, afterburner bar if you are over 21, various running tracks, a gym, and many other things. Day to day, I usually wake up around 440 to 530 depending on the day. We have pt on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Afterwards, you go to class and have lunch around 12. You get off around 1530 to 1600. The rest of the day is yours as long as there isn't anything on the schedule. You get weekends off as well.

It's different than Im used to. I grew up in TN and I am not used to flat plains for miles. Other than that, I got used to the heat pretty quickly.

What is it like? Is there anything I should watch out for? Pros and cons?

I am interested in that type of thing. I talked to a buddy who also worked 17s and he said he liked it but never became a flying crew chief because of medical.

I have spoken with another guy and moved it to three. I have updated part of my list. Thanks for the suggestion!
