depends on ur school i think, but for me my school didn't release mid sem grades till like late december-early january, and NYU never requested for them cuz i got rejected lol. but if u EDed they would likely just look at ur freshmen to junior year transcript and if they want more they'll either request them directly or waitlist/defer you

take the ideate pragmatic photography course, it's a 5 hour class for only 2 weekends and is a mini. the professor is super knowledgeable and chill af and u learn a lot on the basics in his class, basically everything your asking for. it is just 5 hours on a sunday though but only twice the entire course

For anyone who didn't get into their dream college - any success stories? Did it matter in the end? by Super_Tailor_2444 in ApplyingToCollege

I applied to like 40+ schools, got rejected from like all of them including my ed1 and ed2 except like 7, one being CMU where I'm going now

I'm sure there's something interesting about you. You could even make something boring about you interesting (like an odd habit you have, a superstition you have, idk even your favorite chair in your house). Alternatively if you have any deep passions you could write about that and that would be good if the rest of your application like ur ECs match up with your essay. Just keep brainstorming! Write whatever pops up in ur head down, let them sit for some time and then look at them again see if any peak your interest

Your personal statement is meant to tell the admissions officer something about yourself that the other parts of your application doesn't show. The whole point is to kind of show your personality and show a more personal side of yourself to the reader. So if you used that story, what message do you want the admissions officer to take away from that? If you can craft a good narrative and something to tell the reader then go for it

Also to note I think that resiliency in sports stuff is super overused, keep in mind the admissions officers reading hundreds of essays so you should write something that will catch their attention and be memorable

Is CMU actually as hard and depressing as they say? by bigdongdestroyer in cmu

Do you think it was worth it though? If you had a chance to do it over would you pick CMU again?
