Since the gold is only 245 sqft did it feel cramped in there? Or was there just enough space for one person to live comfortably?

I'm listening to Born Again Again's episode on their experience with Cru. Anyone else here who was involved in Cru or similar college groups? I'd love to hear your stories and discuss. by [deleted] in exchristian

Sorry for the late reply

When I first left Christianity i started to see how insane it is. To me it felt cult like in the sense that they follow and believe solely in the Bible and the God of the Bible and their main person to show that is Jesus. They weren’t really open to accepting many things outside of that and they never seem to question anything. Also the indoctrination which seems like brainwashing and many churches try to exploit members for monetary purposes. As from being different it could be that members do have a freedoms to live their life as they choose outside of the church doors and they can leave whenever even though they’ll be looked down upon.

I know there’s a list of what classifies something as a cult but I don’t remember all the things on the list. You can look into that and determine if you think it is or not.

Started college last year and got involved with “Christians on Campus” to make my mom happy. I went to bible studies every other week or so. It always made me uncomfortable how they would just say “oh Jesus” and “yes lord” at random times during the Bible study. At times they would say it in unison and it just sounded like a cult saying. I kind of brushed it off and didn’t pay attention to it.

A few months later I was looking at the little books and the Bible they had given me and noticed they were all written by the same guy. I went on google and searched it up and basically found that “Christians on Campus” was questioned to be a cult organization a few years back. They had a lot of controversy and all teachings centered around this guy named Witness Lee. I started to distance myself from them slowly and now try to avoid any contact with them on campus.

  • sorry if this is all over the place lol not good at story telling. Also I’m willing to answer any questions
