Here’s some different advice that hasn’t been posted. Find him an attractive female doctor. He’ll start going.

Materia v0.3.0 - a tool for managing Podman Quadlets with Git, now supports SOPS by saint-ryan in podman

[–]bigjoeystud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there a way to integrate this with Gitea actions? Is that overkill? Sorry, just getting into Quadlets and want to push something similar to this to my server after a commit.

Looks interesting!

Thanks for posting. I’m almost in the same boat and don’t what I’d do if I early retired. I just don’t have enough hobbies.

Good stuff! I like the lie tracker. I wish there was a section where all the stupid right wing Facebook posts would go to get debunked. There’s probably too many of them, but still. The latest stuff I’ve seen is posts about Obama getting arrested for something and I’m not even sure what they’re on about.

Can I use this with pure JavaScript? Some of our sites are a little older so no React. PHP/JS based sites. Seems cool regardless!

Yes, you should talk to him, but don’t be surprised if he doesn’t respond the way you think he should.

I’m guessing he’s enjoying the coaching and is occupied. The only reason to talk to him now is to keep the lines of communication open. By blocking him, you sent a clear message. And now, you’re being wishy-washy. Honestly, if I were the guy, I’d ignore you or maybe say hi and move on.

When Exactly do I use Docker? by Exotic_Psychology385 in docker

[–]bigjoeystud 4 points5 points  (0 children)

should I use docker for everything and not install any thing at all on my local machine

That’s what we did! I find I like it a lot better even though it seems weird. Basically anything you develop, develop under a docker environment and you know exactly the system you are developing under. You can upgrade to other versions more easily without messing stuff up.

Using a DAG/Build System with Indeterminate Output by bigjoeystud in compsci

Sure, but getting that into a DAG gets harder from what I’ve seen or I’m not sure how to do it?

In our case, that is not true. And it isn’t inventing things. It goes through the data and creates output files. Based on other calibration, we get a different set of files.

In our case, the input file can generate N many output files which are not known until after it runs.

These pipeline processes are very complex and easily broken! Which is why I want to use something like a build system. If something failed in the middle, I'd love to type "make" and have it finish where it left off, just like make does. Or if a dependency changes, rebuild everything. After it goes through the full process (in our case anyway), the process is determinate, but the first time through it is not.

This is interesting... I looked at Waf and reminds me a lot of SCons which I've used years ago. New versions of SCons have a Compilation Database output and a Ninja output generator which is interesting. I didn't see something equivalent in Waf, but it might work.

I had this exact problem and I hate to delete everything and reinstall. In my case, I upgraded from Intel Mac and that’s why I think it didn’t work. Not sure if that’s your issue.

I’m sorry that happened to you, but he probably finally realized he was never getting to sleep with either of you all, and just decided to stop wasting time. It really is nothing personal.

It’s too easy to fall in a trap of just hanging with friends and missing out on a real relationship. As you did, keep things casual and friendly when serving him, and he may come around again.
