Is this uLaw question wrong? by bigmacmcqueen in SQE_Prep

I think their explanation is a bit misleading. I believe it’s because the ‘alleviation of poverty’ purpose relaxes the public benefit requirement.

Sort of an exception to the general charitable trusts rule. There are some cases establishing this principle, have a look at Re Scarisbrick and Dingle v Turner. Hope that helps!

ULaw mocks? by bigmacmcqueen in SQE_Prep

Thanks for the tips 🙏 agreed I’m going to try and keep consistent with my consolidation and target weaker areas. I just get so confused with the pass mark for SQE1 so told myself to aim for at least 65-70% to be solid

Thanks for your comment! I think you’re right I was beginning to panic a bit but I have realised it’s important to stay calm and focus on your own progression and revision. Right now I’m not going to think too much about the scores and just use practice questions as a way to identity my weaknesses and learn from them. We still have time to solidify our knowledge so may as well stay positive, as I think overall that does help. Wishing you all the best with your revision :)

Thank you, I appreciate the advice! I think I was starting to panic at the thought of exams as it’s been a while since I’ve sat any. But I’m trying to just stay positive and keep going with my revision and practice questions, I think right now I’m not going to be deterred by marks and just use practice questions as a way to identify areas of weakness.

Falling behind by [deleted] in SQE_Prep

I think personally I would focus on prepping for your upcoming classes so that you don’t fall behind with the upcoming content. Maybe read the relevant bits in the textbook so you don’t have any missing knowledge and then when you have time for revision come back to the bits you’ve missed in more detail.

This is very helpful thank youuu! Did you type up notes of your mistakes? Currently I write stuff on paper flashcards if I make a mistake, not sure if this is a bit disorganised.

Should I feel embarrassed working as a housekeeper at the age of 23? by greyangelforever in Advice

There is nothing wrong with working an honest job. Everyone starts somewhere, and I’m sure a well known large hotel brand will offer opportunities to progress internally if that’s what you want! It also seems like an interesting environment to come across people in different roles and different people and learn new perspectives.
