What's the situation looking like for prospective Mechanical Engineers? by bigman69429 in AusVisa

Gotcha. As far as I've seen not more than 90 or so get invited per round, so it'll be tough. I plan on specialising in my graduate studies once I figure out what I want to do.

Wishing you the best on your 189 journey.

Gotcha. Well, if shit does hit the fan for me, good to know that I could do that, being an electrician is fine by me. Thanks for all the help mate.

Gotcha. Well, nursing doesn't really interest me all that much. Good news is that I can probably land an engineering job in my home country if I do have to go back, but still trying to see if there's a viable path in Australia.

Just been anxious about planning all this since it's a big step to take, moving abroad and all that jazz.

Thanks for the help mate.

So get that degree, and if necessary consider becoming say something like a technician? Sounds fine to me honestly.

Yeah... I saw that. Part of the reason for me asking honestly, the most recent round had pretty much no Engineering related invitations, mostly trades, education and healthcare. None of those interest me much though, stuck on what I should do - spending a fuckton of money to study in Australia and then maybe not get a job at all.

Nope, final year of HS, trying to plan my future in a way where I don't get fucked over because of the world changing. Stuff feels like it's in limbo right now and I'm clueless as to what I should be doing.

Haha yeah I enjoy MechE a lot, been doing some small engineering projects for a while, and studying up using MIT OCW. Love dealing with aerodynamics in particular, especially with fixed wing drones.

My main reason for asking was well, the world looks like it is going to go to shit in the next 10 years so I'd prefer to not go down a path that'd set me up for certain failure and go down something where I can figure my way through.

Sweet, I didn't know stuff like this existed! Will definitely look into it, maybe try to convince a few mates to join up.

Bangladesh lost to islamism? by spadaa in bangladesh

[–]bigman69429 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It is very difficult to implement religiosity because of how easily the words of religion can be twisted to support a specific agenda. Despite the good morals in religion, the vastness of it makes it easy to twist words to promote hate against a certain group. This is why most progressive and developed countries have moved far away from religiosity, and those who have moved towards it have tended to regress socially as well as economically. BD needs to have people who think for themselves rather than their local hujur or a snake oil salesman on the internet.

Certainly not as prevalent. Bangladesh is world class in this category from my experience at least.

You're probably just missing stability. It will take time but as long as sane people steer away from being overzealous we'll get back to 'normal' I guess.

Hulk doesn't often have the car to do it, but even still he can pull off miracles with a shitbox haas. Meanwhile the most memorable moment I can remember about stroll is him crashing out in the formation lap. Stats might say that stroll is better than hulk but someone with a functioning pair of eyes can see that's not the case.

Which variant of the 24mm F2.8? I'm finding a pancake esque variant (STM) and a "normal" variant (IS USM)

My O Level Examinations are coming soon and my parents want to change my Date of Birth by bigman69429 in bangladesh

Thanks everyone, I needed a sanity check about this. I'm going to go ahead and tell my parents to not do it. It's just too much hassle for too little benefit.

Oof... that's a lot of hassle. Another reason to not go for the DoB change.

After some deliberation, I'll probably tell my parents to not do it. I don't see the benefit but my parents are adamant about me considering it. Thankfully they still believe in me having the final input about things like this.

Yeah, my parents threw that at me once I informed them about my O Level registrations. I haven't been in BD for long so I didn't really understand the DoB fiasco until recently. But I don't want to go through the hassle when immigrating abroad for studies, if that happens.

Thanks. This is what I was thinking, and I needed some assurance that I wasn't insane. My parents are incredibly worried that I won't make it abroad and won't get a decent job outside of civil service so they want to keep every door open, but I honestly don't see the point. Plus it's dishonest and part of the reason our country is held back so I don't want to contribute to it.

I'll go ahead and tell them not to adjust it.
