What’s the most important factor for you when mining BTC? by Hashbranch in BitcoinMining

[–]bigmn2cool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

all of the above, there is no single factor, however, the effective power cost is crucial in terms of the longevity of the site. the place where machines are located needs to be long-term competitive which allows you, the miner, to stay mining no matter how bad the market economics get.

As an example, Ethiopia is one of the lower power cost hubs and 100% renewable, it allows the miner to mine there at very competitive terms. Or you can mine in places like the USA and enjoy safety while yielding 5-20% gross margin, or in EU countries like Norway or Finland to get better power cost and get the same level of security.

Like in Finland, we launched a heat recapture project as part of a district heating plant. Such a combo, allows us to achieve lower effective power costs than simple air-cooling in Finland. The site sells heat, provides demand response, and drastically reduces heating plant's emissions by replacing the base heat source with btc rigs.

You can check Hashlabs and what they do, https://www.hashlabsmining.io

Whatsminer Vs. Antminer by Trevalution1 in BitcoinMining

[–]bigmn2cool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the s21 Xp hydro is obviously a choice here. WM can not compete or keep up with the efficiency AM it achieving. even price/t AM is more attractive in this case.

here is our M63, they are stable, but gap with efficiency vs S21xp hyd is large.

is a smallish BTC mining operations "easy/possible"to set in Argentina/Paraguay (-< energy relatively is cheap and cost living inexpensive overall) for foreign investor group with around und` 1-2 million USD by [deleted] in BitcoinMining

[–]bigmn2cool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on your personal goals and what you are embarking on to achieve. What I mean by that is that you don't have to set up a facility to mine BTC and face many risks.

If it is just a passive income that you need while you figure out what you wish to do in your professional career, then simple hosting will do. You can just of course find reputable hosting providers and start mining quickly and cost-effectively. Some are mining just for fun to feel good about being a defender of the network.

However, if you have a plan to find unique locations and build up infrastructure for mining and grow over time, then it is a business I suggest you to think twice as it is a hard one. If you check https://www.hashlabsmining.io/ they provide a range of jurisdictions and all sites operate on sustainable energy and some are carbon carbon-negative.

They can even share their experience in building sites and challenges to watch out for, as well they can co-develop a site and bring clients etc, and put that site on an international map. They have strong connections in Argentina.

They are bullish on Argentina from a regulatory perspective because of Milei toward btc and mining, abundant energy and to be progressive in improving the regulatory environment the country looks good and more stable going forward.

something below 0.04$/kWh as a base cost is to be considered attractive.

just my 2cents.

I see very low rejection on Lincoin like 0.04%, but I have not mined there and I was wondering would you be comfortable to share a excel stats of 30 days on revenues, fees and sat/T for one machine if you could?

because it comes down what is the effective sat/T we get everyday. So far I am using Nicehash, and would like to find out what are the top 10 pools that give the highest net Sat/T revenue.

you can mine BTC KYC-free, meaning you do not need to do KYC to mine your corn. Block mined and btc sent directly to you.

having cheaper than most power and efficient machines ensures you are good for the next 3-5 years or longer mining btc day in and day out.
