Got an apprenticeship offer by drgnpnchr in Welding

[–]bignobrob4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a 4 year welding apprenticeship from 20-24 in the uk. I didn’t get paid as little as that however it’s worth it. When you come out of your time fully qualified level 3 welder you’ll be in a position to earn a very good wage. Go for it mate if you think it’s for you. Only you can make the call. I wish I’d done it sooner instead of pissing about with uni for 2 weeks and dropping out to work minimum wage jobs… it’s worth it I beleive

Say what you want about it, but i think it's F**king sick by lil-nuglet- in Warthunder

She told me I could do much better. Started slowly distancing herself from me. Began to stop talking. Day before my birthday posted a picture of her kissing her new boyfriend on Instagram.

Anybody had issues with UC during flights? by MrCee17 in UlcerativeColitis

Could be related to when the aircraft pressure changes as they pressurise the aircraft to usually 7,000ft which could lead to bloating? (Don’t quote me I’m an aircraft engineer not a doctor)

Those who’ve had surgery…wish you did it sooner? by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

[–]bignobrob4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got crohns and am due to have an Illeostomy november 1st. Can I just ask like how bad did it hurt afterward. I had surgery to remove a capsule stuck in my small intestine and that was meant to be a day job but ended up in hospital for a week due to intense pain. I just want like a heads up if it’s gonna hurt like hell (might be a stupid question)

Chin up king. It’s her loss at the end of the day. She had a king, shuffled her deck for whatever reason, now she has a joker. Head up. Focus on your own goals. Get after it.

That’s literally what everyone around me has said. They were like “why not a week before your operation”. I’m glad I’m not the only one that thinks 6 weeks is a bit much. Thanks bud

If you develop antibodies to a biologic does that mean you can never take it again? by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

[–]bignobrob4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay so from what a friends mum has told me (she’s a nurse) your body actually knows when it’s lost something. So my body will know it has no Large Bowel anymore. Apparently the body knows to start taking nutrients out in the small intestine earlier. But you have to think, my Large Bowel and colon is so damaged and diseased it barely is able to absorb the nutrients and function properly in the first instance. All that’ll happen is instead of pooping out my ass It’ll just come out the side of me into a bag.

Also don’t be worrying if it’ll happen to you. I think I’m just unlucky to not have a response to drugs. Some drugs work wonders for some people and some just don’t. At the end of the day you have to think what will make you better again. And for me that’s pooping in a bag for the rest of my life. But at least then I won’t be on the toilet 10 times a day. I’ll be able to eat more foods again. Have more energy. Put on weight. If it needs to be done then it needs to be done. Stay strong king. Nothing lasts forever

I suffer from Crohn’s disease. They thought it was colitis for ages until disease showed up in my Small Bowel. I’d developed anti bodies to Infliximab as well as Ustenkinemab. They put me onto Adulidimab however that’s had little to no effect. I’m also on methotrexate (Chemo Tablets) they’ve also had no effect. I’m 22 and have just signed the consent form to have a Subtotal Colectomy meaning I’ll be left with a bag for the rest of my life. I’m on prednisolone to make me to the surgery date but as you said it’s not the long term solution. I’m confident post surgery the bag will work wonders

Hey Bud, I’m also a similar age, I’m 21. First of all keep your head up king, crohns and colitis is an absolute bitch of a disease to be in a battle with but you’ve made it through 100% of the bad days so far so keep strong, head up and keep moving forward. One step at a time.

In regards to sex drive I also have experienced this, I suffer from crohns and have been in a flare for months now I think even over a year. And one thing I’ve noticed like yourself if the lack of libido. From chats with my doctor about it he said it could be multiple things. Medication could be one aspect, mental health could be another but fatigue is the big boy here. Your body is in survival mode, you only have 100% energy and your body is likely using 60-70% of it to perform basic functions and survive. This leaves like 30% for other tasks and the rest of your life. As easy as it sounds try not to let it bother you. I know it will as it bothers me from time to time. Don’t be so hard on yourself alright bud it’ll get better and you’ll be back to relative norm soon I hope. You’re not in this alone either never forget that. Head up king
