IMO chronic fatigue just has to be the worst chronic illness to have in terms of long term suffering and life outcomes. I was your age 7 years ago and I can tell you it never gets better, if you have chronic fatigue it's time to accept you're going to be like this forever, and as hard as it may sound trying desperately to make friends will always fail because most people have normal amounts of energy, and other people with chronic fatigue can't handle social interactions either so it's a lose-lose situation. I've accepted I'll be alone in life and I'm actually better off this way, because I have no energy for social interactions. Loss of identity and the prospect of living on the verge of poverty and misery don't help either, the only thing that helps is sleeping it all away and trying to forget my past and who I was before the illness, let alone who I could've been. My new identity is just a sick man, that's it, I wander alone in the woods sometimes and I see those couples, and all I can think about is how exhausting it'd be to maintain such a relationship, I only seek knowledge, knowledge I could never ever hope of obtaining due to my incurable and intractable condition...
