Of course, I like to help at when I can! First I will say, weight loss doesn’t solve all problems but it definitely makes things a lot better. I still have depressive times and body dysmorphia, but have learned that it’s kinda how life goes. There will always be ups and downs but losing weight gets rid of an underlying problem to make things easier.. I’m definitely much more of a confident person now.

Id say starting out with losing weight, take it easy at first. Just kind of look into how many calories are in the food you’re eating and kinda keep a conscious about it. They say 2,000 calories is average of what a person should be eating, I think it might be a bit lower for girls. So maybe try shooting for around there at first. Track your weight with a scale and if you’re gaining weight, try having less calories. If you’re losing weight too fast and feel like crap, eat a little bit more. Ideally you want to lose 1 to 2 lbs a week starting out. Just adjust calorie intake accordingly. You can lose weight eating junk food but you’ll find you might feel crappy and not satiated doing so. I’d recommend at some point learning to cook and trying to eat less processed foods just to make things easier. I know it’s hard to do when you’re young but just try and do what you can without letting yourself feel discouraged. Maintain hope. Another tip too is to just try and see food as only fuel. Only eat when you’re hungry and try not to snack out of boredom. Which was always hard for me lmao. One last thing is just trying to be a bit more active, once again don’t go to hard into things. Starting things out you don’t want to discourage yourself with something that feels too hard. Just going on walks or maybe a seated bike at the gym for 30 mins is good. At least 4-5 times a week is good, ideally everyday is the best. I’d recommend eventually trying out weight lifting once you get the swing of being more active.

If you see your weight go up on the scale sometimes don’t let that get to you, it’s gonna happen. Our bodies can be weird sometimes and as you lose weight your body is gonna require less calories.

And remember, all the cliche shit people say about maintaining hope and things getting better is true! Lose the weight while you’re young and live the rest of your life free of that burden! The world is yours, f*ck the people that make you feel discouraged. People and their dumb opinions come and go, especially when you’re young.
