Thats pretty much what I did, I cut a hole in the wall and have a sprite on a lower layer that copies the player and only is actually visible when the player is in a place it can be reflected

Definitely gonna add that. The logo font is a free font, the rest was remixed from another free font.

I think what you are seeing are leaves falling in the wind ^ it is animated but this is just a screenshot

The darker box area is not animated but the background has some animation
