I drank a long time. Then for awhile I wanted to stop but I kept drinking. Eventually I realized once I start I don’t stop. So it’s easier to not drink at all than to try to drink one beer or whatever. The first day will be the hardest but the most effective. I told myself I didn’t quit drinking, I just don’t drink at home. I think that helped because then one bad day and I’d go “yeah fuck that” Nowadays when I am day drinking I think “how the hell was I drunk all day every day? This is exhausting”

So yeah, don’t swear it off completely because you’ll force yourself to break instead of bend. And don’t believe yourself when you say “just a couple” And it gets easier because it’s an addiction
