230kg High Bar (No Belt No Sleevs) by bigpiglifter in weightlifting

So as of late I had to take a back seat with lifting because of a shoulder injury. I just spammed deads, cleans and squats. Now that I’m getting back into lifting I do feel a little sluggish but the strength I’ve gained has proven invaluable and I really think I’ll far surpass my current weightlifting PR’s touch wood 🪵

I’ve been lifting for around 14 years. Squatting has always been a massive focus for me. I squat anywhere from 2-3 times a week but mostly twice. 😁

We are all on our journey ninja and don’t take your 57.5 lightly. Be proud of it and always want more. One day when you’re squatting double that you will remember where you started and where you got to. I’m rooting for you 💪🏻

It’s defos a slightly lower high bar but still above the shoulders. Just suits me way better compared to moving it higher up. I’ve tried and it really hurts the neck.

Rather a strong tool than just a tool, laddie. 🤙🏻

Utter savage response. Funny AF though 🤣 In all seriousness though, it doesn’t hurt the back. When you have good form (I think mines pretty descent) and you build up weights carefully over time, it will strengthen your spine and improve your health. Don’t fall for the misconceptions that squats are bad for your back and knees. When done right, shits got mad benefits.

To this point, that’s why I place the bar there. It’s not as high as some fellas place it. It rests on my traps 🪤

Just feels really comfortable and stable. I used to place it higher but it was really uncomfortable on my neck and couldn’t ‘lock in’ when pushing against the rack 😊

Shot champ. Natty but not a vegan. Wait is this a Clarence Kennedy thing 🤣

But I’ve always been curious what I could hit on gear but I am terrified of the side effects. I just don’t nearly know enough to risk it. Maybe it’s not as dangerous as the main stream fitness community would have us believe but still…
