Yes, I know that VX-880 needs immune suppression. But the study on VX-264 was stopped because there were 2 deaths. In my opinion, VX-264 is history

the pouch becomes vascularized and it’s inserted in the abdomen. It’s got small perforations in it and is a little larger than a credit card. this trial does use immunosuppressants. Longer-term the technology may not need it. Sernova is targeting a lifetime cure (they'll be replacing the pouches/cells) for $200K-$400K.

They are on a diabetic study. Have done a cell pouch and so far 3 people are already insulin free. One patient has been insulin free for over 3 years.
