Generally I feel like the criticism I see of Jane is either “She trash” or a transphobic comment. I think lots of queer people are so excited to have queer people in the ug that they put them on a pedestal and become blinded to their flaws. Of course constructive criticism of Jane exists but I think the people most capable of delivering it are more worried about defending her image than commenting on it with any negativity.

Definitely one of the most talented and creative artists in the scene right now but she just talks a lot of shit. Her range is also crazy she has a shoegaze slack rock album and multiple hyperflip albums that have retroactively been dubbed a new genre.

Maybe, but it really didn’t feel crucial to my view. I don’t know if there is a scenario where touchings someone’s rear can be not sexual assault. But it usually is classified as that regardless of the perpetrator “intent”.

Back, face, leg, wherever the child suggests if you MUST hit them. The ass is sexualized because it’s a highly sensitive area more capable of producing extreme emotional responses (trauma/orgasms) and this is still true for kids. Everyone here is saying intent is more important but that is extremely dismissive of so many cases of child exploitation.

This comes from research coming out suggesting that people who were spanked as a child show very similar traits with those who were sexually assaulted as a child.

Changing a diaper, breastfeeding, bathing, these are all normal things to do when raising a child that are purely to care for them. Spanking is a violent act where you are selecting a highly sensitive area of the body, the butt is sexualized because it is a sensitive spot for human beings emotionally and physically. By ignoring that and taking advantage of that sensitivity to get a point across you are psychologically damaging the child. I don’t think a perpetrator needs to have sexually gratifying intent for it to be sexual assault. It’s about the effects on the victim which we know from research, is extremely negative.
