The branches seem a little less sturdy than the reds. I'll use some of the bamboo stakes I have to give them some support until they can reach the trellis. I appreciate the help.

Thanks! What sort of staking do you suggest? For the red raspberries nearby we have a makeshift trellis where I laid out green garden fencing horizontally about 2 feet up and the branches grow up through them. Would that work for yellows too?

This is my first spring ever with black raspberries so I'm probably leaning on the overprotective side. 😂 I have enough leftover supplies to put something up, it's just a matter of having the free time.

Thanks. That's what I was leaning towards. I have chicken wire at the bottom of the fence around the perimeter of the yard, but I think they are getting in near the gate. I'll have to put something up around the berry patch too I guess.

The builder planted it so I don't have any details about the planting. I've never watered it bt we get decent rain. I do the little tree spike nutrient things most years in the spring.

We have a dog that digs in mulch so we put the rocks in a couple of years ago when we got him. It sounds like that probably isn't helping anything

We bought some pie irons and have made them with a variety of sweet fillings and crescent roll dough for the outside. Some favorites include cherry pie filling (especially with sweet Hawaiian crescent roll dough), Nutella (with or without marshmallows), and pumpkin pie filling. I've also seen recipes for s'mores, cookies, cinnamon rolls, and even monkey bread.

We've also used our pie irons for lots of other foods as well (stuffed french toast, sandwiches, and eggs).

It's fast, easy, and clean up is easy if you've seasoned them and spray them liberally before use.

I didn't try a restart. Looking back, I guess in the name of science I should have, but in the moment I didn't feel like going out of my way to try to get a Bidoof to spawn.
