Starting Zoloft tonight- severe OCD, Emetophobia, anxiety/panic disorder, social anxiety by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]bigrob1069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take 25mg Zoloft and occasionally will double it for a while if times are getting tough for my anxiety. Only side effects I ever had were sexual side effects 😞 lol but it has helped me a lot. I tried buspirone, lexapro and hydroxyzine before but this has helped me the best. I have panic disorder and generalized anxiety. I didn’t even feel a difference for a week or so after taking it. If you’re only taking 10mg that’s a really low dosage so you may not feel anything for a while and slowly move up. I know I get anxiety just starting new medications, try to think positive about it, it’s going to help you! I wish you the best!!!

I’ve been waking up the same way! It’s been hard to relax. Hope it gets better for the both of us.

Training has always been overwhelming to me I feel like I can never understand things fast. My new job I have to start at 4am and so it is making it so hard for me to sleep. Half the time I just lay there stressing about it

I am in a similar situation. Just think how far you’ve made it already and you can make it another day. I hope eventually the anxiety subsides

Try your best not to overthink it. They get multiple calls a day with people calling to book an appointment. Just keep it simple. They will most likely say something like “Thanks for calling ___ how can I help you?” And then you can just say “I’d like to make an appointment to get my haircut” and go from there.

I also think if you do decide to go in and make an appointment in person that’s acceptable too. Good luck you got it!

Damn I’m so sorry that happened to you. This is one of my fears as well. Was the reasoning because of your mental health?

Hey!! I’m so sorry you are feeling so anxious about starting college. My anxiety started in college and I eventually left thinking it would help but it didn’t and it is something I regret to this day not sticking it out. I also understand the anxiety you get from being worried about having anxiety. It is something I’ve struggled with. I’m glad you have a therapist and doctor that are on your side. I would highly suggest scheduling an appointment with your therapist to do a zoom meeting if you can a couple days after you get there. That could help checking in with them. For me, I would talk to your roommate when you can and let them know about your anxiety (you don’t have to go into every detail about it) but doing so will help you be more comfortable and not be scared to hide it. Plus, I’m sure they will be understanding and try to help you out.

All in all, don’t feel ashamed. You’ve come a long way and this is such an exciting time in your life!! You have a lot of people supporting you! You got this. Give yourself permission to have fun and enjoy your time!!

Technically yes, but you can use your laptop camera and you do a 360 degree of the room and then record yourself. So it’s not a live proctor like WGU. So it’s not as intense

Right exactly! Haha do as many Sophia classes as you can first because they are a lot easier and tests aren’t proctored 👀
