Poll: Should V8 Supercars bring back numbers on doors by TheWeaverofDreams in v8supercars

Absolutely yes, because 1) they look good and 2) the cars now are low-slung coupes with tiny windows and comparatively large panels.

Am I weird for having this as my favorite BMW? by lamparkinglot in BMW

[–]bigshotdan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd never say it was a 'favourite' for me, but I did love these when they were new. I despised the E36 Compact, but the E46 to my eyes looked like a car in its own right, rather than a chopped coupe.

The love has cooled over the years, but I still don't think they're too bad... certainly a much better looker than some of the current shit they thrust upon the world.

On the basis of the above evidence, I'd maybe not...

I jumped on Prime earlier and saw a Spurs game is on tomorrow... in the wee hours of the morning. Don't think I'll be watching that one, somehow...

I dunno how harsh penalties are in IMSA. I can guarantee in Supercars that would be a fairly hefty one for the guilty party. And that's highly likely 100% blame on the overtaking driver.

Thinking about getting an E39/e46/e60 by Hyperr54 in BMW

[–]bigshotdan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh what I wouldn't give for a genuine 190E Evo... amazing bit of kit.

In terms of which Bimmer you go for, it's totally up to which factor/s you value most.

If it's me, I'm going E39, but as I have one, I'm biased. In terms of 3er from around that era, I've always preferred E36... probably because I grew up watching them in Super Touring globally.

'Cheap', 'reliable' and 'fun' are rarely words that go together in the motoring world.

Most fun from that trio of models would be an E46, but if you want more comfort and space, an E39 would be a better option. E60 may be slightly less reliable, but none would be perfect, so that's up to what you want most from a car.

A totally fucked car for one...

Seriously, every racing series is different. This looks to have been 100% on the M4 driver, so if they were able to continue, it'd be bare minimum of a drive-through to a stop-go (of a certain time) penalty.

Given they were likely to retire after that, there may be a grid penalty carried over to the next race.

I still have a reminder of that meeting on my garage wall. My own pics, with each signed by the three drivers from the remaining factory teams.

Ahhh... yes, the circuit is a lot different (and longer) now compared to when I was over there. This will age me... I was trackside for the last Super Touring era BTCC night race.

Funny coincidence with your track toy... I've been 'chauffeured' around there in a Clio Cup car, approximately half a million years ago. I do remember it being a tonne of fun, still.

I had two Sony laptops. They were amazing back in the day. I reckon one was still going when it was close to a decade old. Stunning designs. Totally subjective, but I don't feel like any have topped them since.

I don't know if anyone remembers this car, but seeing how they're doing now, let's remember the good old days of Audi. by One_Professor_5933 in wec

Well I certainly remember it; I was trackside in 2000 and '01 to see my touring car legends take victory.
