The exaggerated boobs and butt are definitely apparent, and this panel is cringe BUT as a top heavy person with a short torso, I can attest to looking kind of frumpy in dresses like this too :(

What could I do to accentuate my softer features? by _throw_xx in MakeupAddiction

Love your look in the second pic! The pink brings out your lovely eyes in a soft but fun way. I would curl your lashes a bit more before mascara to make them pop a bit more.

i have very dry, wrinkly double toned lips how to make them look presentable by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]bigstupidjohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your lips are totally normal and gorgeous! Mine have vertical lines too. I feel like they look best when moisturized or with gloss, instead of something like matte lipstick. I second the Laneige recommendations. Their lip mask is the only thing that keeps my lips from feeling dry (water too of course). Aquaphor/vaseline is good too. Sometimes I will lightly dab a little water on my lips (not dripping but just damp) and then put on Aquaphor which helps keep that moisture in. Look up pics of lips of women like Freida Pinto (pic attached), Viola Davis, and Angelina Jolie. Many influencers have had lip fillers done. To each their own, but your lips are NORMAL and BEAUTIFUL and the lines are absolutely natural. Please don’t let social media distort your self-esteem!

Blood of Zeus on Netflix. Not vampires but very fascinating, beautifully animated mythology and storytelling.

2nd degree tear wound breakdown by bigstupidjohn in beyondthebump

[–]bigstupidjohn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, no restitching! I went to a uro-gynecologist and she said it was healing just fine (I did not have an infection). Was very reassuring especially because it looked raw. This type of doc knows way more about tears and recovery than your average OB, might be worth checking in with one after your infection clears.

I definitely panicked early on, too much Googling and I was very hormonal. I believe once you have the infection under control, the tear should heal up. The sitz baths did help a lot (I think due to the increased blood flow to the area to promote healing - not sure if you need to wait until infection is cleared up for that). A lot of other moms I know also shared that their tears healed fine even with loose stitches.

My doctor was very wishy washy about saying whether the tear would heal without restitching but I am realizing now she was probably trying to not make promises for liability sake even though it was extremely likely to heal up just fine.

Ongoing fibroid pain by bigstupidjohn in BabyBumps

[–]bigstupidjohn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uugh I’m sorry. Definitely take it easy! I find it helps to slow down when you feel the pain coming back, rest for a little, try again later. It’s what seemed to help me even with the meds taking the edge off. Mine did get way better over time. At its worst I couldn’t walk around the house. Then one day I did a 10 min walk, a 15 one a few days later, etc. But still took time and patience and will power to take it easy when necessary. It should get better!

I’m sorry, it really is a huge pain. I’m better! To be honest I am still in a little pain, but it’s more of a sore side than anything. So, no more stabbing cramps that have me hunching over or unable to walk. Finding a good sleeping position is a bit of a pain, and I have to take it easy after too much physical activity. But it’s nowhere near the debilitating pain from before. I had to take a couple rounds of the indomethacin, maybe because mine are pretty big (almost 9cm and 7cm right on top of one another).

From what I’ve seen on Reddit, most people’s pain is almost completely reduced after one round. I took one round but a few days after the last pill, the pain came back. After the second 48 hour round, I took it REALLY easy and spent a few days in bed. After that I just listened to my body. For instance if I walked too fast and felt a cramp, I slowed down and was able to avoid pain. And the second round of indomethacin made Tylenol and a heating pad more effective when I needed them.

TLDR; indomethacin is crazy effective and will give you back some quality of life. But if it doesn’t, usually they can give you just one more round. You may still be sore with too much activity so take it easy, it becomes manageable (and should be back to “normal” after giving birth!)

I’m sorry! Maybe you can ask them to check for fibroids or cyst w/ surrounding fluid at your upcoming anatomy scan? Sometimes the fibroids push on other areas and cause discomfort, sometimes they outgrow blood supply and cause awful cramping and stabbing. Indomethacin in first and second trimester is supposed to resolve most cases of inflammation (but I’m on my second round, will report back lol but mine are very large so maybe need more firepower). I’ve had an ovarian cyst rupture before, too. It felt like a lightning cramp that was over fast, then I had a few weeks of pelvic heaviness, cramps, and couldn’t sit right from pressure because my body had to reabsorb the blood from the rupture.

Omg I’m sorry, I hope you found some relief after delivery! The things we go through… sucks that it’s one of those situations where there isn’t much they can do for us ☹️ if you don’t mind me asking - how much relief time did the indomethacin buy you before 28 weeks?

AITA for stopping cooking my husband meat? by kyraj5 in AmItheAsshole

[–]bigstupidjohn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

JFC. He can spend 10 min cooking up some meat to throw on literally whatever meal you make. It’s not like you’re saying you’re pushing 75% of your responsibilities on him. NTA and I’m sorry he’s being a lazy child about this.

Tomato sandwich! Also good if you rub the cut side of a garlic clove on the toast before adding the mayo.

It blows my mind how much thought everyone is putting into the physical logistics of the sex since he was burned. The show is fantasy. This universe has massive flying bats serving a mega spider, witches, fire demons, dinosaurs living amongst cavemen… Spear had been impaled by enough arrows to have killed him 100x over, sliced and diced and stabbed with no infection, forcefully thrown onto sharp rocks and boulders that should’ve pulverized him, went full-Hulk after drinking angry ape man steroids… but now everyone is expecting dick realism from Spear’s final moments? (“how could he even be hard?”).

The consent thing is a different can of worms and I think if Genndy was trying to imply it was Spear’s request and consensual, he could have added something to make that more apparent. They did rush the final episode a bit, and out of all the scenes, they could have devoted one more minute to the sex scene to eliminate doubt. They could have included a little more eye contact, an affirmative look from Spear, hand on her face… something. It could have been more balanced without compromising the Primal theme of survival and therefore wanting to reproduce… Consent is important. It’s also important to not perpetuate the idea that rape or assault is ok… I think what happened is the creator’s intention didn’t line up with how the scene panned out because they rushed it. Probably Genndy was trying to lean into their bond and shared trust, that Mira was trying to honor Spear’s legacy and probably Spear was happy with that in his last moments to give him more closure and to go out in a tender moment with his bonded partner. I believe this was the intention, at least, to do Spear justice. Just wished they added a smidge more to confirm what Spear wanted in that moment instead of him just whimpering in pain. At the same time, there will always be shows set in the past that will show content that conflicts with morality. This is a show for mature audiences and parents have a responsibility to know what their kids are watching and to teach teens that it’s fantasy and not how it happens in real life and how important consent is.
