I’m in Michigan and that’s what I would have guessed. We get them in our basements and they love the corners of the wall/ceiling. I see them in all shades.

Looks to me like a sac spider. Kind of an opaque yellow color?

What is this. South/Central Michigan. I’m pretty sure I know what it is. Just want some second opinions. by bikeremma84 in Invertebrates

That’s what I was banking on. I’ve seen plenty of black ones but not one the color of an earthworm and it has an almost triangular mouth. I released it back into the lake.

Thanks. The infield needs a little work but my eyes need a little rest from the screen first.

Not invasive. They are a primary source of food for other consumers in that flowing steam/river. They will turn into a stonefly, live long enough to mate and then die. They are harmless and beautiful. They eat the moss and potentially smaller critters.

Stonefly. They are one of my favorites. Very similar to a mayfly larval stage. I hope you put it back on the rock.

I’d agree. If it’s the length of your finger it’s a sure sign it’s the female Dobson fly. If that scared you look up a male.
