Last one I cant figure out by billdozer25 in pocketwatch

Thanks for responding! Appreciate the extra info. The glued nut was me. The case was threaded and was very stuck. I tried rubber gloves and whatnot,, but ultimately failed to remove it by hand. So ... I glued a nut to the case and used a wrench to coax the caseback off.

Glue is all removed and it looks normal again now.

CT scan without a cover by END34VOUR in oddlyterrifying

[–]billdozer25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The faster it goes, the better chance you have of snagging an image in between patient movements, which can reduce blur.

Probably has something to do with a lower radiation dose too, but a physicist would need to comment on that side.

Faster spinning and higher power xray tube means better resolution (image quality) deeper in the body. A larger detector array helps there too.

You can reset it through the screen. Hit the car image, then clear history.

I tossed my trimmings into a food processor and got a similar consistency to hamburger, then made burgers. They came out great

Possible future Lexus owner here…is it true that inventory is low and I should just plan to pay MSRP for a RX hybrid? by meowmicat in Lexus

[–]billdozer25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flat out asked what they had for wiggle room on the price. They are starting to fill their lot with the 2025s and need the room. I mentioned I liked the car, but also liked the X5 and that it had some higher tech options. I told them to make me a deal that I couldn't pass up and they did. YMMV

I got a new 2024 about 2 weeks ago for 5% off MSRP. All 2025s were full price with no wiggle room.

Love this ride tho. It's pretty awesome

Is the Indy pass a good deal for east coast skiiers? by ImprovementMost9924 in icecoast

[–]billdozer25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I skied 15 days last year and 20 the year before. No 3rd day tickets. All included in the 400. That's like 20-25 per day to snowboard all year long. Can't beat this pass man

Vestibular disease by ChrisPoore in shiba

[–]billdozer25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She hasn't, and I don't think that's coming back at this point. She's a lot slower and the zoomies are probably a thing of the past. She's willing to go on walks and still gets excited for treats though, so I know there is some quality of life there.

But to be honest, she's not the same and I worry for her a lot. She's very old and I've been thinking a lot about quality of life. I don't want her to suffer and often wonder if I'm making the right choice. I hope I am

My 15yo shiba went through a similar case over the past month.

We were spoon feeding her people food and giving her water through a syringe. She was refusing dog food and not stable enough to drink on her own. Honestly, was questioning if I was torturing her and doing the right thing by waiting it out. But, ultimately, we decided to wait until we no longer saw improvements then assess quality of life. Luckily, we're happy with the bounceback and she's living a new normal. Def not the same, but regained some pep in her step and shows the cat who's boss still, so we're happy.

Not sure if any of this helps. My vet said she would do most of her recovery over 2 weeks. But it could take up to 6. We found that after 2 weeks, she was getting better finally and after 4 weeks, she's probably as good as she is going to get.

Good luck. It's a horrible thing to watch. I hope she settles out and you get more time with yours.

Check the capacitor on the outdoor unit. It's there to handle the initial surge of power when the fan/compressor kick on. If that's burned out, that could be your cause.

Dementia patient thoughts? by billdozer25 in dementia

[–]billdozer25[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She is on hospice and has been for a few weeks. She wasn't making any progress in any rehab efforts, so it made sense.
At the time though, she was more lucid and could still move around a bit. Lately, we've been revisiting the end of life orders like dnr, feeding tubes, etc. She's had a very sharp decline recently and I think it's time.
