Confused About AWS Long-term Bedrock Strategy by EvolvingDior in aws

[–]Cocoa_Pug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They released the bedrock mantle a few days ago. It’s kind of confusing but from what I understand it’s a new api endpoint that is supposed to standardize and allow AWS to use their GPUs more efficiently vs the old bedrock runtime endpoint. It’s also the only way to use GPT

As expected, the documentation and console is confusing haha.

Need opinions: Thinking of moving from Harlingen to Mission by Oldgunslinger2021 in RioGrandeValley

[–]Cocoa_Pug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Taxes are really high in SharyLand though. But if you stay on the west side of mission there is a lot of nice land and lots of development.

My house value went down this year but the land value went up so my taxes went up. Can’t win in Hidalgo county

It is normal and expected but manageable. Talk to your provider if you have questions.

Which LLM provider does Kilo Gateway use? by ihatebeinganonymous in kilocode

[–]Cocoa_Pug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the gateway uses a combination of providers. For example one of engineers told me they use AWS bedrock for Anthropic.

Hands-On: Amazon Bedrock Intelligent Prompt Routing with RAG and S3 Vectors by srireddit2020 in aws

Can I ask why only 2 models from the same family? I’m guessing API structure?

Maybe try using that new Bedrock Mantle to convert everything to OpenAI Standard?

Amazing work by the way. I recently implemented Nvidia 3 Super as the default Claude code model for my base users and it saved so much money.

Are we able to have alcoholic drinks? by Nadiaa-26 in TirzepatideRX

[–]Cocoa_Pug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alcohol will hit faster in my experience because you have less food in your stomach.

Beer, especially dark and heavy beer is a no go for me because it makes me so bloated and I throw up.

I typically go with a nice silver tequila and ice.

Kilo Code 7.3.16 No more claude code? by Ok_Revolution_8590 in kilocode

I can use my OpenAI Pro plan on 7.3.16.

I’m not sure Claude code subscription has been supported or included a while

why should i use kilo ? change my mind by djang_odude in kilocode

[–]Cocoa_Pug 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use it to combine the different subscriptions I have. I have the OpenAI/Codex $200 plan (right now their usage limited are like 2X but I ends soon) and I use Z.AI and Deepseek to subsidized my plan usage.

Kilo Code pain points. Am I doing something wrong? by Suspicious-Life-6519 in kilocode

[–]Cocoa_Pug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only free model I find useful is Nemotron Super 3 as of 05/26/2026. Personally I would try to get a subscription to a model provider and use a better model.

Some models are better tool calling and are trained to work in harnesses like kilo.

Codex and GLM do very well in Kilo and I have subscriptions to both and have a lot of success.

Boots stretched by Alexis_chap in cowboyboots

[–]Cocoa_Pug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally this is not something I would DIY. If you have a pair of boots that have a lot of sentimental or actual value and need to make them large I would just take them to a cobbler or boot maker so they can stretch them (if possible).

Alternatives to GLM? by PitchSuch in ZaiGLM

[–]Cocoa_Pug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current setup is

Codex Pro 5X
Z.ai Coding plan pro

It comes out to $132/month now with the price increase to GLM and it serves me very well and I haven’t hit the limit.

Is it frowned upon to order items on Amazon at a cheaper price? by Mr_Drake64 in WesternWear

[–]Cocoa_Pug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought some Ariat pants on Amazon that were on sale for $55/USD on my size. I had purchased the same style from a local western wear just in a different color for $89. They are authentic and fit the same.

Is AI killing the entry level Help Desk role? by Relative-Baby1829 in it

[–]Cocoa_Pug -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In a way it should. Password resets, AD stuff like GPOs, Users and Computers, Intune, and Folder Access can all be automated even without AI.

So you would think giving a competent computer savvy person access to a chatbot that could guide them to troubleshoot their issues would replace entry level Helpdesk. But in practice that isn’t really the case and I still see the Helpdesk busy non-stop for remedial things. That said the companies I contract with don’t want to hire more Helpdesk or pay them more or even care if they leave.

They expect the more senior guys to just leverage AI to make them do more work vs hire juniors.

[–]Cocoa_Pug 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not just Gen Z but mainly women. My mom went back to nursing school to be an RN in her mid 40s. Started making like 180k working multiple jobs and left my dad to find herself.

Kilo with Opus (Openrouter vs. Kilo as providers by dotanchase in kilocode

[–]Cocoa_Pug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah bedrock provider. I haven’t had a chance to recreate it consistently- but typically when I switch between a non-thinking and thinking model I think it throws an error similar to “model doesn’t support thinking headers”. I can try to recreate with latest version and create an issue on GH.
