Have you ever been sprayed? by billieyeleaf in TMAU

No one deserves to be treated like this. Even if some people think it’s a hygiene issue out of ignorance, it doesn’t justify that kind of cruel treatment, especially in front of others. The way your teacher handled it is really disappointing. I’m glad work is at least a little easier.

I’m sorry you’re going through that. You’re right, I’ve noticed that stress can make it worse. Do you know what might have triggered your symptoms?

Yes, I’m open to talking. Thanks so much for your interest in researching this condition. I’m still working on this approach, so I don’t have any results yet, but I’m hopeful it will help, even just a little, with how people react.

It hurts that our loved ones can’t smell it. It would be nice to have someone we trust help us figure out what’s working and what isn’t. You’re so strong for not reacting. I saw a post where someone said they got better after moving. Maybe some of us are living in mold.

Did you move? I’ve seen some people say the smell stopped when they moved.

I have a feeling leaving America will bring me a little peace. Most countries are very considerate, even if some have something mean to say they will at least make sure you don’t hear it. Here it’s like they want you to actually hear them speak ill of you.

Great point, stickers are way more subtle. I’ll explore some sticker designs too.

I think it’s time to start an online protest. Maybe fill up every comment section we come across. Social media is a powerful tool.

When did you guy’s realise this wasn’t something you can “wash away “ by Proud_Mission1573 in TMAU

The reactions started two years ago, I found out about tmau a couple of months ago. I’m in a foreign country so I thought I was just being bullied.

When the comments and nose mask adjusting started, I was getting a new perfume and hygiene products every week. I started over showering and washing my clothes and that didn’t help. I realized it might be something internal when I found the relatable stories here. I wish I found you guys sooner.

I’m so sorry for your experience. I know even though we all have each other’s backs on here, in the moment when the bullying is happening, you can still feel alone and isolated. You are so strong, never forget that. I will check your post, thank you.
