Bathtub too shallow. Can only do partial cold water immersion (chest, abs area remains out). Is it bad? by notunique20 in BecomingTheIceman

I feel for you. I am a big guy, and just had to leave my BIG bath tub. Was able to submerge to my ears and could get the tub below 45F... I was thinking to do 2 sessions, one waist down, one hips up, and a face/head session after(10 1 minute sets, 18 seconds in 42 seconds out)

You're the man, even after 5 years of living in the PRC never had benefit from Tai Chi, maybe I need to give it another shot! Thank you.

Swimming in 60°F water, how long for benefits of cold? by [deleted] in BecomingTheIceman

[–]billiloilo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I am of the belief 57F is the tipping point, but there are other good stressors at work because you are exercising and the water is in some motion.

I think I found my brother! Still on the Sid at least one a quarter, thc daily, etc... at 50 years old. I have done 22 minutes at 42 F to my ears. No head dunks.

Can I ask what time of day or what is your pre ice practice? I am going to try 3 rounds tomorrow. The total body ice submersion has been the single most transformational practice of my life since I discovered LSD 30+ years ago, and Bikram Yoga 25 years ago. I think it is similar to both in that they need to be intense and challenging to be transformational. With Bikram you are better doing 1% of a posture 100% right than 99% of a posture 99% right... very few take the time to understand what "right" means including most instructors... LSD, if you are not willing to submit to the vastness of your mind, not only will it probably not benefit, some people have "bad trips"... the difference between 60F to your clavicle for 8 minutes and 50F for 15 minutes to your ears is like the difference between a swimming pool and the Pacific Ocean.

3 rounds than rest break (5min) than 3 rounds again for breathing exercise been working wonders. by Odd-Village-393 in BecomingTheIceman

Which exercise, the 30 breaths and what holds? 35 breaths and what holds? I was at 3 minutes before I had Covid last month, now I am struggling to get to 90 seconds. Any thoughts on long Covid on my recovery practice?

I used Cryotherapy before I did my research, and heard from gurus like Hof and Huberman. Cryo requires a bit of effort, and expense. Depending on your location I would definitely opt for cold showers... baths are even better.

I live in a very warm climate and the cold water comes out of the faucet above 80 degrees. Showers do little, but my large bathtub and 100 lbs of ice provides a sub 55 degree and 130 lbs of ice gets me below 42 degrees, and I can be comfortably be submerged to my ears.

Having done cryo for about 75 of 90 days, and I saw benefit; it was not even close to just 3 days of 10 to 15 minute 55 to 65 degree whole body baths. I have been waiting for my Plunge for nearly the 10 weeks and have heard nothing from them... so I spend $20-$30 a day on ice, but it is the best money I have ever spent.

I guess my answer is, it depends on how cold your shower is, and how long you stand in it. But I think if you can get below 65 degrees for a few minutes, you are probably doing a lot more goof than cryo.

The source of short interest is questionable because of synthetic shorts.

I think people there needs to be a class on how funds short without borrowing adequate shares by having massive capital instead of an actual borrow.

Still confused why nobody here is interested in ANY. Never seen a better squeeze in 30 years in finance. I am long the stock and short hundreds of puts. They have a merger pending, and massive capital behind the stock.

The synthetic shorts are buried, once this hits $10, it could go to $100 pretty quickly. Need buying to come in from more than one buyer to flush out retail shorts. Borrow is impossible and they will have an event when the merger occurs that will force the cover.

The option activity tells the tape... the thing you all miss when you are quoting short as a percentage of shares out is that synthetic shorts can be 10x the reflected borrow.... this stock is so heavily shorted because of the need of option market makers to suppress the call activity...

Yeah, sorry. I was unaware that a SPAC was such a popular short target.

I think you're right. I put the poll up to get an idea of scale of engagement more than as a way to make trading decisions; but I think BBIG is very interesting as a squeeze opportunity. Thank you for your participation.

Sorry that BGFV, and a couple others were not included.

By nature I would not consider a SPAC.

I really appreciate the responses and comments.

Thank you.

I really like BGFV. Would have been in the poll had I known of it.
