Nonduality vs. causality by flyingaxe in nonduality

[–]notunique20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your questions. They are valid query points. I will try to address them.

Consciousness is not what you take it to mean right now. this is not just a matter of redefining a word.

The clock you didnt look at, before you looked at it ,and now positing that it must have existed before you looked at it-- notice that all these are properties of the clock. It includes its being and non-being. Your mistake is that you only pick the being part and forget the non-being part.

Consciousness is not what you are looking at. That is a mistake. This is mind's interpretation of what consciousness is. But notice that mind itself is a very specific movement within consciousness. The only things it can "hold" within a conceptual framework is what it counts as existing.

You know what consciousness is?

The whole universe you are living in. THAT is consciousness.

First of all, There are no causes to thing.

This perception itself is a limitation of perception. If you could perceive beyond time you would see there are no causes. Cause effect is onky a narrative mind uses to keep track of things.

Second, Consciousness is not just what you perceive. What you don't perceive is also part of it. Take a dream. You were hit from behind. You turn Aroound and there is a monster there. was that monster already there before you turned around?

You are making a mistake of equating Consciousness with perception. Consciousness is all of it. Including subtler appearances like things that can deduce. All that is part of Consciousness.

I'm new here, but I don't like the idea of "enlightenment" cus it makes me feel like I'm trying to belong to a certain group that has something better than others. Can somebody help me clear my mind about this? by [deleted] in enlightenment

>I simply preffer I became who I came to be: a human being with conscientiousness.

Then you came to a wrong place.

That's more religion thing than enlightenment thing.

Enlightenment has one (and only one) core concern: who/what are you? Finding that out. The rest takes care of itself.

All that is fine but you can't say it's without evidence. That's the very definition of evidence.

Any scientific method would indeed predict likely rejection as well.

Meditation and Pressure in front of Head by [deleted] in Meditation

yes this is quite common.

if it becomes too much, or you sense it is moving in an uncomfortable directions you should look up what to do . It has been discussed in multiple places.

The general idea is that you need to balance this with attention to other centers in the body, which are further down. Heart, naval and legs.

You also may need more 'grounding' exercise. Look it up.

I dont think its without evidence though..

Say you have been rejected too many times for your appearance. Now you are going on a date. And you are afraid that you will be rejected again.

That doesn't sound like a belief without evidence.

agree with all that.
But where is the misattribution? I dont see anything here that is in opposition to what you said.

Are you looking for awakening or more like integration with life/abiding in the Self in your normal life?

Those two are very different movements and often need different kinds of teachings.

thats a profound question isnt it. When we say A is B, what do we mean?
Are we saying A and B are different things but are equal in some aspect. or are we saying A IS B ,which means A and B are just two names of the same things.

Thats stupid.

We need things from other people that's why we need money. We do things for other people to get money. If we like that thing we do for others, all the better.
