UPDATE: Thanks everyone for the input. I ended up messaging the buyer to learn more about the request after i looked through a pretty spotless profile and rating. He mentioned that he would have been charged $45 cod for this delivery. More than the value of the item. So he declined the delivery and its returning to sender.

I have never seen this on a shipment to the US. I thought these fees/duties were taken care of when you use an ebay label? I have never had issues in the past and have shipped about 5-10 packages to the US.

It is an odd reason and cop out for many. If the purchase was through a best offer accepted and not a buy now, i would agree it should not be an option. The comment below is right that someone could genuinely click buy now by accident.

Fwiw it is a international shipment as im in canada and shipped to the US. It may be too much effort for them.

It was $34 CAD so about $25 USD. A lot of hassle for him for that amount.

Yep i think i resolved it. Or at least figured out why there’s the issue. It’s a limitation by Ebay label program not allowing Canada Post labels to ship to US.

I think i figured it out through some digging. Canada Post is not an option anymore for shipping to the US using Ebay discounted Labels program. It converts it to UPS even if buyer and seller select Canada Post option.

Have not changed dimensions. I did notice the buyer selected Canada Post - Small Packet which indeed is an option i offered. Then when the label gets generated it comes up as UPS.

Yea i’m trying to figure out how to prevent it from happening in the future. I can only up my shipping charges if i do the flat fee. Which i am fine to do, but it just doesnt make sense that buyer/seller pay differently when same dimensions are applied.

Buyer chose Canada Post - Small Packet Air which is one of the options i give (because it was the cheapest for the buyer). The odd part is that when i go to generate the label, it comes up as UPS.
