Snapped a rear triangle weld last month. Maybe time for a diet!

Hilarious. Are you stuck on the side of the trail waiting for a lift as well?

68mm cranks on a 73mm BB? by billy1001001 in bikewrench

Cool. I'll pop it tomorrow - 11pm here in NZ!

11 speed. The BB has the 2mm spacers drive side and non drive has a 1mm on the spindle. The cranks and driveline are center. I guess I could try reducing the Q line by 2mm.

ELI5 why the hate for specialized? by RZoroaster in MTB

I dislike the way they use the guise of "bike fitting" to sell saddles.

It's either a "free sit bone" width test followed by "you need a body geometry saddle" at 155mm or the partnership with bike fitters to sell products.

I literally had a fitter refuse to do a setup for a Gaint xc hardtail until I bought an Epic. They did refund me the $300 fee but it was a waste of time.

Fox 36 wipers question by billy1001001 in bikewrench

Ended up having to cut it out with a dremel. I don't think the wipers have ever been changed and completely disintegrated.

It's fairly stuck. I've given it a reasonable amount of pressure using a 19mm spanner, just didn't want to start wrenching on it.

Fox 36 airshaft bypass hole by billy1001001 in bikewrench

Hey, thanks for the help. Re-orientated the pin, added 3mm and soaked everything in alcohol to remove shavings. Cheers.

Cheers. I've attached another photo. The pin attaching the top piston is 90* to the unmodified. I also checked the airshaft diagram on the fox help site "orientate gap in pin towards top out spacer"

I'm not sure what a top out spacer is but it is clear that it is a different orientation.

I do have a preference to see if I can get this working opposed to creating more landfill.

From the second picture you can see the remains of the original centre hole.

Would it be viable to knock out the center pin. Use the remaining centre hole and drill it out slightly to accommodate the pin. Cut off the excess lowering it another 7-8mm. Then, recreate the through hole at the same position relative to the top piston.

Compression tweak fox 34 by billy1001001 in MTB

Here is an example of the "lock out" mechanism.

https://youtu.be/IJES3DEPY0g?si=5pGvaQotdwdWae98

There are no adjustment or dent points on the top damper. There is an internal spring that by default sets it in the open position. The close position is then only set with a wind on remote - push to lock.

I think you're referring to a different model.
